  1. Hey, everyone! Thanks for the input. I think I have it figured out now. The major issue was that they rolled out DOCSIS 3.1 without telling everyone (or me, at least), and it broke compatibility with my ancient modem. Thankfully, Spectrum doesn't charge monthly for modems anymore, and they're sending me a new one at no cost. Also, they did roll out the 100mbps download at no extra cost, so that'll be a pretty nice upgrade. ? I'm starting to like Spectum more than I used to. Thanks again for your support!
  2. Hello LTT peoples! My home network speed seems to have dropped lately. I should be getting at least 20/2, but instead I'm getting around 0.6/3.5 Most help on the internet that I've found is aimed at sudden connection drops and/or people who have absolutely no experience. I have some minimal networking experience, but not enough to know what I'm doing. Specs: Provider: Spectrum Modem: Motorola SURFboard SB6120 Wi-Fi/Router: Linksys E3000 Extention Wi-Fi router plugged into the first one and strung across the house: Linksys E1500 All of this is connected with CAT6 that I crimped myself. Ethernet speeds appear to be no better than Wi-Fi (I got sick of waiting for Speedtest.net to load after a few minutes). This setup had been working fine for months; nothing unusual has happened/changed. This has been going on for nearly two days, and my family may stage an uprising soon. Thanks!
  3. Anyway, thanks everyone! To end, what do you recommend I upgrade first? Currently, I have a crummy modem that is being rented from my ISP, and a router\AP combo device from TP-Link.
  4. Ahhhhhhh. I see what you're saying, but that isn't quite what I'm looking for in my setup.
  5. I think he means the AP right into the modem.
  6. Mmmmmm..... no.... Even if that did work, I still need multiple access points and have several wired devices.
  7. Okay. I have TimeWarner (Spectrum) with 20/2 MB/s
  8. That part is sounding kinda scary! Elaborate please?
  9. I do it all the time! It should be fine. It says "WR-IPX 7" on the back. IPX7 – Full splashdown accepted captain. If you drop your device in water up to 3 feet (1 meter but this is ‘Merica and we don’t do the metric system. USA USA USA) your device is still going to work. Thanks!

  12. That projector looks pretty insane! I don't know where I'd put one, but I bet that I'd find somewhere if I won!
