TheTechyBrit's Achievements

  1. Hello, my Vessel name is Anthony_y Favourite videos: https://www.vessel.com/videos/JemZ8O7Hy & https://www.vessel.com/videos/LCoY5zfFf Good luck to all!
  2. That's my issue, I either have GRUB left over which no amount of Bootrec /fixmbr will solve or a Windows boot error
  3. Hello, I recently installed Linux Mint 17.1 on my main PC and later attempted to add my Windows 8.1 copy to allow me to have a dual boot setup. I got as far as the rebooting from the Windows installation but when I selected the "Windows Boot Manager" option from GRUB I was presented with error 0xc0000225. I've tried several supposed 'fixes' online but nothing works. I've used Bootrec on my installation USB to fix the MBR, 'fix boot', I even rebuilt the BCD but to no avail! Before this I was able to atleast get into my 8.1 installation by using Super GRUB2 Disk but because of this error I can't even do that! I think it was caused by when I couldn't install Linux in the first place so I wiped my disk of GPT with a tool on my live USB called 'Fixparts'. That is where the problem started. I'll be happy to answer any questions about what I've just said if it wasn't too clear... I'm not that good with words Thanks all
  4. I've been coding in Python for almost a year so I'm fairly comfortable with it. Dipped into Java a little but I never actually wrote anything of use, and although it's not really recognised as a mainstream language, I'm confident with GML (Game Maker Language) which is used in Gamemaker: Studio.
  5. I think I'm a bit late but oh well I actually use my dad's old laptop for Samba shares. I tried FreeNAS but apparently it has "less than 512MB memory detected" so I run Xubuntu instead  Works for me though, I can stream music to my phone and my PC from it and watch a couple movies but I mainly use it for keeping the family photos backed up. Anyway. Looks damn good. Nice work with it
  6. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all for giving us quality tech videos. Now give us free stuff
  7. That's a pretty nice rig from the sounds of things H100i will allow for some very nice overclocking performance if your motherboard supports it. 270 will do just fine, as I assume you'll be playing at 1080p. I know that case looks very nice. I think you did well there, my friend. Any pictures would be appreciated
  8. I had an Athlon 3800+ and a GeForce 9500GT. Still used it until about a year ago.
  9. So it won't download atall. Or it won't download an update?
  10. I got an entire PC for £1, 500GB hard drive, GeForce 9500GT, Athlon 3800+ and 4GB DDR2 because my friend was throwing it out. I just installed Linux on it and used it as a backup machine. Still got it, took out the GPU and put a 3TB WD red in there and now I use it as a NAS.
  11. A new Crash Bandicoot game for the Playstation 4. I loved the Crash games when I was yonger. Unfortunately this is highly unlikely; I don't even know who owns the rights to the franchise at this point. It was Activision but they've since removed my favourite Bandicoot from their site and not said anything about it. Naughty Dog needs to buy back the IP and return to the roots of the series but, I guess that's all for another topic I wouldn't mind Little Big Planet 3 either but I couldn't buy the PS4 unless I recieved the money for it some way or another.
  12. I think I was about 4 or 5 so it must have been 2005/2006. I played Crash Bandicoot on my dad's PS2... still wish they would release a new game
  13. Yeah I can do that. I'll be putting the drive in the NAS in about a week when I have the time so I should have enough time to get everything ready for the boot drive change. Thanks once again.
  14. Unfortunately I don't think that would work since I'll be installing on a different drive. Thanks for your help though
