I think Intel is better for gaming because it has far better performance on fewer cores, many games still don't use 8 cores.

Intel has less cores but they are faster. Intel has more cycles per second. AMD has more cores. AMD CPU's tend to have heat issues. People choose cheap AMD CPU's thinking they are better because they have more cores.
