  1. Wait, this is still considered new? I've had mine since February Regardless, this has been a phenomenal keyboard to use and I thoroughly enjoy customizing it to my liking. Took some time to get used to it but boy was it worth it.
  2. If they go with the same format, it'll probably be a different set of questions. I don't think they'll release any details on how things will be done for future drops so be ready for a different challenge
  3. Congratz on grabbing a card! Question for you though, how long did it take for you to get to the checkout screen? Just curious how fast people are at these things.
  4. Video went up 45 minutes ago. LTT probably sold out in less than 10 minutes, probably much quicker than that. Good luck on the next drop everyone! Ryzen CPUs are next.
  5. I'll be honest with you, this is kind of a strange comment due to the fact that Google Photos tackles a very mobile device focused problem. While this is a solution for more PC minded folks, it doesn't come close to the convenience of using Google Photos or the equivalent. Not to mention the fact that Google Photos makes it extremely easy for the average consumer to backup to the cloud to free up local storage on their smartphones while on the go.
  6. This hits extra for Pixel users. For the past 4 years we've enjoyed unlimited backup and now the sun is setting, unless you keep your Pixel 1-5 for the foreseeable future of course
  7. Starting in June 1st, 2021, new photo and video uploads will count towards the 15GB of free storage included with every Google Account Google cites a growing demand for storage for the changes, saying that this is a necessary step to keep pace with demand Original Quality photos and videos are not affected by this change due to existing policy of these items already counting towards your storage quota. Some good news for Pixel diehards: Pixel 1-5 owners will not be affected as long as photos and videos are uploaded in High Quality from the device. They will continue to be exempt from this change even after June 1st. With this change, Google launches a new "Personalized Estimate" feature within the Photos app. This feature estimates how long a users storage will last, taking into account how frequently a user backs up their photos, videos, and other content to their Google Account. Launching in June 2021 will be a free tool in Photos that will help you review photos for deletion like dark, blurry photos and/or large videos. OP Thoughts Google Photos was my go to advice for anyone who wanted to backup more than 5/15gb of photos but didn't want to pay for expanded storage subscriptions. That'll have to change and will most likely impact other users in a similar position who do not see the need for paying monthly subscriptions just to keep their media. I guess I'll have to expand my Plex Server to include personal Photos and Videos if I ditch my Pixel 3XL Sources Google Blog
  8. I definitely welcome a Vive 2. Was about to pull the trigger on the Rift but decided to wait it out.
  9. It'll be coming out of my pocket so I don't mind ponying up more for a better SSD. I'll take a peek at that SSD Tier List first thing in the morning. Thank you again!
  10. Thank you both for the help. I've ended up with two identical systems aside from the CPU. I'll give her the choice of a 1600 or a 1400. Ideally, I'd like to go for the 1600 as its a bit more "futureproof" even though tech moves quickly. I'm also going to throw in the SSD out of pocket so she'll have a better experience with the OS. I'll of course consider anymore advice if need be. 11. That's unfortunate. Either way, the 470 that was linked threw the budget over by $91 USD. Looks like we'll be sticking with the 1050 for now. Thank you so much for the info!
  12. I'll take a look into the 470 you have there. Didn't know much about it when posting.
  13. Sounds good! In the event she gets into PC gaming, it'll be good to know that the CPU will be alright if she were to upgrade to a better GPU. I'd love to wait and see what Ryzen 3 is all about but she's kind of in a hurry to get a PC built. Her old OEM Desktop finally gave out.
  14. As far as games go, she's not quite sure. She did mention Tabletop Simulator but that was only because we're planning on getting a group together for Secret Hitler. CPU wise, would it be better if we went for the R5 1400 to save some money? Silly me, how could I forget an SSD. Thank you for the reminder.
  15. Looking to put together a Ryzen 5 build for a friend and wanted some feedback on the parts I've chosen. Budget for the build is $600 USD. Some info: She's not the biggest gamer in the world and so I wanted to focus on a better CPU for her everyday computing tasks (word processing, internet browsing, regular student stuff). She has told me that she wouldn't mind playing a few PC games and I plan to help her explore PC gaming to see what suits her. 16. LinusCatTips: LMG employees who have cats and don't mind posting short clips of them I know the channel already exists but make it somewhat official.
  17. Here's the conclusion for those that don't want to read the walls of text:
  18. I second this. If they wanted to make a competitor to iMessage and Whatsapp, badgering people to download Allo is not the way to go. Like someone stated previously, this looks like spam that was sent by a random company.
  19. Title and first post has a bit of misinformation. The Verge is speculating on why the removal of Now occurred and no where does it say its official. In my opinion, Android police has a better article on this where they (also) speculate on why the removal of Now is occurring which is Google making a transition to Google Assistant. This makes more sense than what's stated in the original post and by proxy the Verge. source: Android Police
  20. I personally love the game but have been cautious in recommending it to anyone. For what you're getting right now, its hard to justify the triple A price for what is effectively Minecraft (Beta) in Space. In-game performance isn't as abysmal as some Steam Reviews have pointed out but it does need a performance boost. Overall the game has been enjoyable for about 3 hours then I hop back on Destiny. As for your friend, try to explain that people are different therefore there is a a chance that we like different things. Also, its your $60, so why does he care so much?
  21. "I don't get the hype for this game. It doesn't even resemble the Pokemon I loved to play while young." I'm fairly certain that the goal of Pokemon Go wasn't to replicate the games exactly in a real world setting. From what I've gathered, the main selling point of this game is to be able to "see" Pokemon in the real world using augmented reality. I'm sure a good number of fans have dreamed of being able to catch wild Pokemon in real life and this get's us a lot closer to achieving that dream. Next thing you know it we'll be using AR HMD's like the Google Glass to catch and interact with them. "It just wastes your time taking you to random places." How else would you catch Pokemon in AR? Sitting around sure as hell wouldn't be fun. "No trainer battles." I'll have to agree that the game not having any form of pvp is kind of a downer. But as I was reminded of when the app first came out, the game just launched. We don't know what Niantic and Nintendo has in store for us. "No strategy. No challenge." If Niantic implemented the same combat system Pokemon games have used in the past; it would be a big turnoff for more casual players. This game is aimed towards everyone, not just us fans who have invested a bit more time in learning the combat in the handheld games. Want to play Pokemon with traditional combat? The 3DS and Pokemon X/Y/ORAS has you covered. "No fun." I find it fun
  22. I'd want to try projecting something to the ceiling for a movie in bed sort of deal.
  23. Honestly, they shot themselves in the foot by calling it the HTC One. HTC One M8 is better than HTC One 2 imo. If they were going to remove the "One" branding, they should've just introduced a new name for the flagship line. One that didn't make iteration naming overly complicated/stupid.
