  1. Hello, My AsRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer has a dual BIOS. I just restarted my PC on BIOS 1 minutes ago, and the motherboard gets stuck on the splash screen. However, BIOS 2 works fine. I was overclocked in BIOS 1. Any ideas? I upgraded my gpu about a month and a half ago, and had several driver compatibility issues. However, I doubt this is the issue because the thing has booted and worked just fine until today; so it's probably not the graphics card. Thank you for your help! Should I just clear the CMOS for both BIOS?
  2. It's a Corsair RMi 750W. Plenty of juice. I'm convinced that it's driver errors, not power-related.
  3. Okay. I'll run DDU again tonight and make sure the files are indeed deleted via device manager.
  4. I ran it in safe mode. What do you mean exactly?
  5. Do you have more information on this bug? Or any idea on a name I could research?
  6. I recently upgraded my GTX 750ti to an RX 470. Since then, I have experienced countless issues. Know that on an earlier post I realized I never uninstalled the Display Drivers using a DDU, but since then all of the Nvidia drivers were removed successfully. Please review my computer's symptoms. Any possible diagnoses of what could be wrong is greatly appreciated. Symptoms are listed in chronological order of their appearance. -Stuttering in GTAV (Very high settings, would stutter as low as 40 fps, noticed GPU clock stuttering, but the temps never exceeded 50 degrees C) -Daily BSODs (Driver-related, mostly to AMD drivers (Likely because there were drivers for two GPUs installed at that time), almost always occurring within 5 minutes of waking/turning on the computer after hours of sleep/off) *At this point, thanks to the help of you all, I uninstalled all display drivers and reinstalled AMD ones only.* -BSODs related to Drivers that never before acted up or for disconnected devices (I had my Razer mouse give me a BSOD, so I reinstalled that driver. Next it was a webcam driver that has been disconnected for weeks) -Unusually high CPU load when opening applications (usually spikes to upwards of 90%, then gradually declines back to a reasonable state) -Netflix app Audio Video tearing (The frame would stop for a second, as the audio kept playing. Then, the audio would freeze as the frame caught up. Occurred about every 5 minutes) I know these things are seemingly unrelated, but I had zero of these issues before "upgrading" my graphics card. Any ideas? Most of them seem video-related and driver-related. I plan to boot into safe mode, uninstall all drivers, and reinstall only what is necessary. Should I return the card? Avast Antivirus has detected no malware, but I am not sure on how trustworthy its databases are. Thanks for reading, I tried to be as concise as possible. I am also using Whocrashed to monitor BSOD logs. Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to diagnose the problem(s) and take steps to fix them. Thank you so much! Albeit my struggles, I'm still a strong backer of PCMR!!!
  7. Which should I get? There appear to be a bunch. Any suggestions or does it not really matter?
  8. Is it built into Windows? I can do that. In safe mode? That's what TVwazhere says to do.
  9. First, I will address the more pressing matter: The daily BSODs. Currently facing daily BSODs with my new RX 480 (Transferred from an Nvidia GTX 750ti). Research has told me to fix registry keys, so I used CCleaner to fix 97 errors. When checking the duplicate files tab, I noticed that nearly every file in AMD/Packages/Drivers has a duplicate of itself, both created at the exact same time. Is this correct? If not, how should I go about fixing it? Uninstalling AMD and then deleting leftover files? I like the AMD Cleanup Utility on their website. Grand Theft Auto V Stuttering Not sure why this is happening, but attempting to run GTAV with Very High settings causes stuttering. It usually hovers around 80fps with dips to below 60fps. I haven't tried vsync yet, but if it dips below 60 it will be noticed regardless. Before tweaking the gpu, I noticed there were several small core clock drops on the monitoring graphs during gameplay. The card spun up to its max speed (around 1150), but would frequently drop clock, like it was throttling. However, the card never exceeded 50 degrees! Memory clock looked okay. I boosted the power limit to 125% and it helped slightly, but the stutter is still pretty bad. Check my specs for the rest of my system. Any ideas? I still need to test it after the BSOD mess is cleaned up and corrected. How can I make sure all of the Nvidia stuff is out? I have a feeling by fixing the driver issues the game will likely run more smoothly. Lots of testing to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm thoroughly frustrated with this brand new card. Thanks so much!
  10. Amazon Alexa can plug into power outlet appliances and such, and turn them on and off. How is this done, and can I do this with my computer (perhaps through a USB port or a wireless protocol)? I have a lamp on my desk right next to my PC and it would be cool if I could keybind a function key to toggle it's luminescence. Thank you!
  11. I'd like to keep the motherboard. Forgot to mention that.
  12. Greetings, My grandfather recently gave me his old HP computer after he bought a new one (from Best Buy, eek! Don't blame him). My goal is to upgrade it enough so that it can play light titles, such as Minecraft, TF2, Source games, maybe even a few next-tier (regarding horsepower required) games to run. What do I need to upgrade first, if anything, to be able to run at least Minecraft? Below are the PC specs and current gaming observations. Specs: CPU: Intel Pentium E5200 @2.5GHz GPU*: Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 5450 RAM: 6GB across 4 DDR2 DIMMs: 2x Samsung 2GB @ 400 MHz; 2x Hyundai 1GB @ 400MHz Motherboard: Pegatron Benicia 1.01 (Should be using G33 chipset although I'm not sure) HDD: Seagate 750GB OS: Originally Windows Vista, but now runs 10 Home *I provided the GPU; originally it was running off of integrated graphics Here is a link to HP's website regarding the motherboard included and upgradability: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01324212 Gaming: I only tried Minecraft and Half-Life Deathmatch Source. Both run fine with the dedicated GPU (they crashed without it). However, Minecraft cannot run stable framerates. It runs around 60fps just fine, but stutters a lot. It is less noticeable on the other title. Conclusion: This PC is intended for the use by younger person who can get by with old parts to play a few lightweight titles like Minecraft, and of course have it for other use. What should I upgrade first to eliminate this stuttering? What can I do to make this thing sellable? Thanks for your help! *I don't want to upgrade the entire thing, and I'd like to keep the motherboard
