Old 10k Velociiraptor I used to use. Still works but is failing.

I still should have a 73GB Raptor somewhere as well.
That VelociRaptor reminded me of the Raptor X with a window in them and me really wanting one at the time but I never got it as they were simply too expensive for what you got.

$150 for an i3 they high
Spend like $20 more for an i5. You won't regret it.

the 970 will bottleneck your cpu in some cases, i would recommend an i5 4460 slightly more but will perform much better

It's not a problem. It's a fictional "illness" artificially implanted into the minds of certain groups to enable some fat cats to get fatter, milking a fictional industry.
Look at the "WoW Detox" shenanigan. It's the same thing.
We live in an age where technology is pretty much ubiquitous. All progress and advancements of the human race depend in one way or another on technology and computers (as a general term) are essential in most if not all possible advancements.

1) You are sending spending a lot on a motherboard which gives no performance gain whatsoever, avoid that.
2) Also get at least 850W for SLI.
