    I have left it for like 30 minutes and have tried reinstalling. I'm reinstalling again now though.

    When I boot my freshly installed Ubuntu GNOME installation, it just goes right to this grey screen with dark grey borders. I never get to see GRUB or anything. I have tried using all the commands to enter the command line but it doesn't work. Any help is very appreciated as I am a new user of Ubuntu for a desktop.

    What I find really annoying is the fact that some are metric and some are customary. Are they the same, because Google says no.

    I dunno, mine is pretty noisy when you go past 1... That's interesting, mine is at 5 and it's nearly silent. Does your loop have a lot of air in it?
