  1. Just wanted to point it out, we are currently the fifth highest producing team, with 32 Million points per day! In seven days, the LLT Folding@Home team will pass the PC Games Hardware team, leaving them in the dust, then China F@H Power six months later. Team points site: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_list.php?s=&srt=3
  2. Or you can add one more titan and just use that as a cpu co processor instead!
  3. Just add 512mb more RAM and you are good to go, you just need the little bump so that those titans have somewhere to store graphics data.
  4. Phi cards would maybe be amazing folders, owing to the co-processor architecture being able to potentially support crazy muli-threading. however, they aren't directly supported on either side, so you probably at the least wouldn't be able to take full advantage of their power. THEREFORE, because Intel only claims a peak processing power on the highest end cards of 1.5 ish teraflops, compred to the GTX980's 5 ish teraflops. So I'd say that while you can probably fudge things and get it to work, it is definitely not an optimal situation.
  5. Thanks for the heads up, was getting a little nervous that maybe all my systems were broken or something.
  6. If your budget is significantly under $1000 dollars, go with an aftermarket GTX970 for folding, they have amazing performance and wattage per dollar, and can overclock like crazy.
  7. Sometimes, if you pause the WU, it will jump back when you restart it back at the last save point, which is up to 30 minutes earlier. If you just left the computer running with no interruptions, it's probably just a progress prediction error.
  8. Hi everyone, I have been thinking of doing a set of tutorial videos for setting up folding at home, and and how to solve common problems, such as driver issues and getting settings correct. there aren't really any videos covering this, only forums, etc. and I think that would have been a useful resource for me when I was getting started. I have been contributed to various distributed computing projects for almost 6 years now, and have used several 600, 700 and 900 series nvidia cards, so I would like to think hat I can contribute something. So... what are some problems you guys have had when trying to get going, so that I can include a variety of things. when you reply, please comment with what card you have, and the specific issue that you fixed/still have. Thanks!! -Tinkerfan
  9. I am in college, and living in a dorm room with three other people, so I don't have any room for a big pc. I am studying design, and working on a project where I am doing tons of 3d modeling and rendering still scenes in blender and such, and the power boost over my old laptop would help to no end. Also, the zbox is so efficient that it would make a perfect rig for folding, and I have been trying to help out the ltt team with some points.
  10. I had a really great one from the North Face a while ago, not sure what model, but I like all their stuff, and it fit a laptop and several textbooks easily. Maybe try going to their website?
  11. My android tablet has been folding for about 3 months straight, but my main rig only a week or so.
  12. Here are my findings on the topic. First of all, the system: -AMD fx-6300 3.5 ghz -Reference Gtx-970 -8 gb 1866 mhz corsair ram The monitor I used was a DellP2210, a general-purpose 1680x1050p workstation monitor, fairly mediocre as screens go. For my test, I ran the Tomb Raider Benchmark at the "Ultimate" default setting, which is full on almost everything, 16x anistropic and FXAA. 1680x1050p test: I got max framerate of 62.5, min of 58.9, average 60.1 Screenshots: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B7o27-EBHkmEQzZFenJ3UDFFS3M&usp=sharing 2560x1440p test: I got max framerate of 61.8, min of 30.0, average 50.3 Screenshots: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B7o27-EBHkmEVklqWENuVm9VWmc&usp=sharing 3840x2160p test: I got max framerate of 30.2, min of 19.4, average 53.2 Screenshots: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B7o27-EBHkmELXFZRWRhcDFSNUk&usp=sharing Hope this helps!
