I've still got another day on it and the psu is a bit fucked and needs replacing (it has the red light issue) I need to fill it yet and I'm chilling the water too but I'll play with that more later. I might get a rm1000x but I'm trying to figure out if I need to replace my cables from type 3 to type 4 so need to figure out the difference.

The deeper you go the warmer it is, perhaps doing an in pond cooler

So I bought myself a x570 taichi razor board and wanted a full cover block and thought to myself the X 570 taichi will fit because it's the same bored just with some RGB and a razer logo..... it's not Hardly any difference in price but it has more phases different vrm setup a load of other bits like audio but also different mounting points so anyway this full cover block does not fit but I can't get one for that motherboard so I've decided to take a saw to it, As you can see in the pictures I've removed all the vrm mount points cut about 8 mm of the end as this bord has 2×8 pin chipset power and one is in the was and shaved down all the cpu mounts as they were standing proud Once I put all this on and clamped it down i did not make good contact as you can see from the remnants of thermal paste Some more cutting may be in order

Silly question about running dual video cards
L00bs4n00bs replied to zogthegreat's topic in Graphics Cards
You could run a vm depending on your CPU and then use the main GPU for gaming and the shit one for 2 desktop monitors This is an awful idea by the way and do not do it -
Hou do I get more power than a 3090 can provide?
L00bs4n00bs replied to UltraNerd's topic in Graphics Cards
Gamers Nexus Done a video at launch about 3090 nvlink support and it was very poor Literally tomb raider, red dead, and quake -
RTX 3090 FE: do I need to replace the stock thermal pads
L00bs4n00bs replied to Spinoro's topic in Graphics Cards
Mine actually performs ok but my friend was less so and I convinced him to replaced his thermal pads and got a very decent bump, we've only tested them for mining because we are both putting them under water before we overclock them properly but his went from 3080 to 3090 performance it was very significant -

For the money you threw at it I strongly suggest you start mining I paid msrp £1400 for my 3090 Fe and my nicehash balance is already £826 in 3 months -
So by profession I am a commercial heating engineer and air conditioning engineer When you're talking about heating and Cooling it's all to do with energy the numbers directly transfer I mainly measure in (kilo)Watts which is handy when it comes to PCs because so do they What you're saying about calling in the ground is a really good idea as during the summer months or at least where I am the ground is much cooler than the air temperature and in the winter months it is obviously warmer but stable all year round I'm currently playing with multiple ideas for some very weird watercooling using the underfloor heating in my kitchen To give a quick bit of background underfloor heating has the ability to transfer approximately 200 Watts per square metre so my kitchen which is 25 square metres should transfer 5000 Watts my PC can only produce perhaps 500 to 600 Watts of heat energy But this is where we get to the problem Obviously you don't want to be putting the water that you are running through an underfloor heating manifold or for that matter any part of a heating or cooling system through your PC The water gets dirty fast there was a lot of it it and it has the potential of just clogging up your block or ruining the the clear parts of your loop aesthetically So to overcome this you would use a heat exchanger the best option probably would be a stainless steel plate to plate type This is just about the most efficient way of exchanging energy from one discrete system to another but it is not as efficient as you would hope so depending on the temperatures you're dealing with and the amount of energy your producing from your PC this may all be moot Using my underfloor as an example Say the temperature of the floor is approximately 15-20 degrees and I ran that through a heat exchanger to my PC cooling at at an efficiency rate of 80% I can't imagine my CPU and GPU sitting at much less than 30 degrees which I can achieve with a decent radiator and fans Sorry if this is rambly and any spelling I have dictated all of it fuck you Google I am very interested in projects like this though
