I know since you also posted this on the overclockersUK forum as well, so I won't repeat what I said there here.

    Thanks.

I asked because there seems to be a gap:

CPU without thermal solution (i5 6200u).

Also to clarify, it's a 5759 (suspect a typo on your part).

    EDIT:

@Pendragon, please could you edit the CPU image with colours as to where I should apply thermal paste and in what pattern? I would really appreciate it

    no.

repaste here. dell's standard goop is really bad. also you only need thermal pads in locations where the heatsink already has thermal pads on it stock (often to cool vrms and such). I don't have a 7559 on hand but @Imglidinhere does. he can help you with specifics. but yes that is a repaste job.

those are entirely different dies. One is for the CPU and one is for the iGPU. You just apply thermal paste on both dies and everything will be fine.

    I stand corrected.

@pete_agreatguy Two dies. Just apply the dot method on the left and line method on the right.

    Ah alright.

Well if ya want it to "reduce active power to deliver better battery life and allows deeper lower power states to be reached," then keep it

Tbh I wouldn't worry about it. I'd just uninstall it cause I couldn't be bothered to use it and its just taking up space so

It depends on what you want to use it for. If we go by features, it is mostly a tradeoff between the two. Reflect free has incremental disabled while Backupper does not, pretty important if you do plan on using them. Backupper free does not support cloning, while Macrium does. Macrium free has scheduled backups, and you can save them directly over the network to a NAS, AND restore them over the network (only wired, since wireless sucks for these purposes) while Backuper free has folder backups.

In all fairness, it is a bit hard trying to understand what is exactly covered on Backupper's site, for example, what does "Universal Restore" cover? Is dissimilar hardware a graphics card change? Or "Edit disk partitions". Does that mean that swapping the drive (due to a failure for example) and restoring a full image will make it a pain to restore if the size is smaller, or leave all the extra space as blank at the end when you want to change how much of that free space goes to OS and how much goes for a Data partition? Or it may be impossible since it will detect it as "dissimilar" (again that vague description)? But that cloning feature while is a paid feature on Backupper it seems that it comes for free with their partition assistant. Does their PE creation tool add drivers that may be needed for your system (for example ethernet ones to access your backups on a NAS)? Doesn't specify that anywhere I can see.

For reference here are the feature pages: http://www.disk-partition.com/download-home.html http://www.backup-utility.com/download.html https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree That plus recomendations made me choose Macrium, where I know what I can and I cannot expect of it. As a plus I can affirm that it has yet to fail on any restore I've done it with it, not even once.

Hi all, money is no concern. Why not the AMD builds? My work colleague is telling me he is getting i7 6700k benchmarks with his AMD build which is considerably cheaper.
