  1. For an Apple laptop, you'll have to spend at least 4 times as much to get somewhat a worthy product. For £250 you can buy the empty apple box.
  2. Your motherboard supports updating your BIOS via a flash drive. Download the BIOS driver from the official page. (the USB port that you need to use is on the back, should have a BIOS button above it, check video tutorials if you need it) https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/E7B93v1.2.pdf - page 62.
  3. It all depends on the games that you play. I have a GTX 1070 with a 1440p screen and can play my games perfectly fine - CSGO, Dead By Daylight, GTA V (around 90 fps on the settings that I game on with no complaints on the visual aspect of the game). I prefer to play all AAA titles that don't require super quick mouse movement with a controller and 60 fps feels great).
  4. I wouldn't get this monitor since it's a VA Panel and curved (on a 27 inch screen curve is pointless! ) for what is a steep price for such panel. You should be able to buy viewsonic vx2758-2kp-mhd for a cheaper price pretty sure, doesn't have an adjustable stand though. Or get this instead (it's actually the monitor I got, and it was crowned the best 27'' 1440p monitor of 2019 I believe, check the excellent reviews. Costs 380 euros on currys PC world - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/gaming/pc-gaming/gaming-monitors/lg-class-ultragear-27gl850-b-quad-hd-27-nano-ips-lcd-gaming-monitor-black-10204170-pdt.html - it would be absolutely bonkers to take your listed MSI instead of this at that price point) I'd suggest checking this video out:
  5. Loading = reading = you read from where the data is stored at speed that the storage device is capable of. You can't do what you described.
  6. No, you don't have to re-install windows. It will just be an additional drive. Connect it in your pc, then right click on Windows icon -> Disk Management and create new volume from your added HDD.
  7. Also RTX 3070 ($499) releases at the end of this month which is just as fast and in some places faster than RTX 2080 Ti, so buying a new 2070 super for higher price makes no sense.
  8. Hello, I've been experiencing a very odd problem, where if I turn on my computer for the first time in a day, entering any game and then pressing the windows key to minimize will change the resolution to the whole desktop from 2560x1440 to 1024x768 and you can't switch the resolution back even trough Windows settings or NVIDIA Control Panel. If I restart the PC, then the problem is fixed, however it's getting annoying to do this every day. The only thing I've tried so far is reinstalling my GPU drivers using DDU.
  9. If you intend to keep your windows on the same drive it's already installed, then no reinstallation is needed. Popping in the M.2 SSD will simply add an additional empty drive in which you can store your files.
  10. Why are you creating multiple topics discussing the same thing? You even give replies to people who ask the same question, which means you're already informed about the answer...
  11. Meh, don't need CPU for streaming since it's better to use NVENC anyways. I'd get a Ryzen 5 3600 and later upgrade to whatever 4000 series CPU you want.
  12. That's way overpriced, he can build a completely new, better pc for the same price. Not to mention the pre-buildt probably has a poor PSU and motherboard.
  13. Performance does not get affected negatively, it increases since there are less pixels to render. Even on 16:9 monitors some people play a game like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with blackbars by choosing a 4:3 resolution. You'll be just trimming some screen real estate.
  14. Pretty sure you can just change your resolution to 2560x1440 in windows, have black bars and then launch Dead by Daylight and everything will be a-okay. DbD is the main game I play as well and am currently on a 1440p 27'' screen and I wish I could have an ultrawide.
  15. Why not go for the latest CPU generation? i7-10700k (basically i9-9900k) costs the same (360 euros in my country at least) and has additional 8 threads. 230 euros will also be plenty to find you a good Z490 motherboard, check this video for recommendations: Also don't forget you can buy Windows 10 Pro OEM (means it will be tied to your motherboard) keys for 5$ off ebay. Other than that, seems fine, maybe try to find 3200MHz C16 (or better) RAM? Seems to be a tad better than 3000MHz C15 from what I've found in google. Choose the same parts in https://pcpartpicker.com/ to see if there are any incompatibilities.
  16. Hello, I feel like upgrading my PC soon and rather then selling everything part by part, I thought about trying to sell the whole thing as one and starting from scratch. 17. With your budget and the performance promised by NVIDIA for their latest graphics cards, you really shouldn't be looking at anything but RTX 3070, unless you are willing to wait for new AMD cards to see what they can offer. RTX 3070 promises to deliver RTX 2080 Ti (a +1'100£ card if we're going by amazon.co.uk prices) performance for MSRP price of 499$. That's simply insane! It also will offer you DLSS (game gets rendered at lower resolution, then upscaled for the purpose of increasing FPS while saving image quality, even bettering it in my eyes at least) which will prolong your cards longevity. While DLSS is not supported by many games, I think it's safe to assume that most, if not all upcoming AAA titles will have it because access to cards that support this technology is becoming main-stream. DLSS showcase:
  18. As long as you don't need the 2-in-1 feature, Thinkpad X1 Carbon 8th gen for sure!
  19. Download the windows 10 ISO file. Download Etcher from https://www.balena.io/etcher/ Instructions on how to install Etcher on Linux if you need it: Burn windows 10 iso to your flash drive using Etcher. Restart your computer, boot from your USB and start installing.
  20. I'm a bit confused by your question, but you need your monitor connected to the graphics card in order to use it for frame rendering while playing games. Also, your CPU does have integrated graphics. I suggest you connect your graphics card again, open nvidia control panel -> change resolution and check if your settings are like mine:
  21. 1. Is your resolution set to native? 2. Perhaps "Output color format" is not selected as RGB?
  22. I second uBlock Origin as a recommendation for ad-blocking purposes. What script blocker do you use? Does it interfere with websites functionality?
  23. Have you played with your monitors OSD settings, adjusting such things as contrast and sharpness? Perhaps you could mention the monitors model specifically? What have reviewers been saying about this monitor, did they encounter the same issue? Since you mentioned you are having this issue while having a powerful MacBook 16 Pro plugged in, I'm certain buying an external GPU wouldn't fix the problem. Other people have and are using MacBooks in combination with ultrawide monitors without any problems.
  24. Hello, I have owned monitor LG 27GL850-B for a few months now and for the past three days I've been seeing this column of pinkish/purpleish, dead pixels(? Probably not since when you move a window through them, they change color a little, it's not completely blank) which spans across the whole monitor (1440px in my case). Thing is, it appears and disappears randomly. I could see it one second, minimize a window then maximize it back and the problem goes away. Does anyone have an idea what's the problem here?
