  1. So, from what I understand, the purpose of a page file is to have a place for the system to swap memory data into when there is no more available physical RAM, but the system may still need the data recalled. However I notice that even when I'm not utilizing anywhere near all the RAM I have, the system seems to almost always be utilizing the page file to some extent. I guess my question is, why is the system using my page file even when just browsing the web, and should I move the page file off of my SSD and onto my HDD as I don't want the constant Page usage writes to degrade my already old SSD. Screenshot showing page file usage when all I've got open is a web browser, Discord, and a few other non intensive random programs.
  2. Currently have a Rosewill Apollo with MX Blue switches, Razor Kraken Pro headset (yes, the same generic green everyone has) And a cheap Chinese "Gaming" mouse with what feels like a worse sensor than the HP mouse it was replacing. Could really use one of these mice!
  3. Yeah, i have bumped up the voltage, maybe I need more? how much is considered safe? where would I go about looking that up? it's a gigabyte g1 gaming gtx 960 if that helps
  4. nope, monitoring it and it's staying right at 1550
  5. So, I have my GTX 960 clocked to 1550mhz and tested it by running fallout 4 for 5 hours with zero issues. Max temp I've seen is 56c. However I later tried running furmark and got a near immediate driver crash. knocked it down to 1510mhz and same thing, 1480mhz same thing. The card boosts up to 1436mhz on it's own which works fine in furmark, but applying any amount of overclock leads to crashes in furmark even though I see no issues in games. Any ideas what could be the cause?
  6. Definitely want the kova because although my cheap amazon "Zelotes gaming mouse" was nice when I first got into pc gaming, it's pretty awful in comparison to any decent mouse
  7. Personally I have an fx6300 OCd to 4.3 and haven't run into any real restrictions on what I can do, I say get an fx6300 over 83xx just because it is easier to cool and a better OCer. besides IPC is more important than having 8 cores right now
  8. So, after resetting the C-mos it gave display and a message reading "mnpDriverBindingStart;mnpInitialize devicedata failed, unsupported" and then froze, after restarting it again went back to not giving display even after re-resetting the C-mos
  9. Cpu connector is plugged in, at this point we've probably unplugged and replugged everything at least 5 times already. But that's what it seemed like to me too...
  10. So my friend was moving all his hardware into a new case with a new powersuply. After hours of troubleshooting we are stuck with no post, when we press power all the case fans turn on and the cpu fan spins, gpu lights up, but no output, have tried multiple gpus with no change, any ideas what it could be?
  11. I was actually considering getting some stick on vrm cooling. do you think that might solve any vrm temp issues
  12. So I know that the m5a97 le r2.0 is not a good overclocking board, but I was wondering if it should be safe running my fx6300 at 4.2ghz on this board?
  13. I'm running my fx6300 paired with a gtx 960 and neither bottlenecks the other, it's almost a perfect balance. considering the gtx960 is about equal to a 280x there's no way it's a cpu bottleneck
  14. Alright, cool thanks for the feedback! so now that i can be sure the gpu is better than a console, what about the fx6300? I know this cpu is not the best
  15. So my current build is a budget gaming rig with an fx6300 @ 4.1ghz, Gigabyte g1 gaming gtx 960 2gb running a pretty high OC, and 8gb of RAM. I was wondering if you guys think I'll be able to run most games at higher settings than the ps4 can run? I've been searching forums for a while and haven't found any real answers
