I mean not bad. Like @tkitch said, it will game for sure. Would it be my first choice? No. There are better CPUs within that price range of the i3-9100F.
I personally like how my 5600x is performing so far. Really depends on what team you are for. Intel has become the budget solution now, but I would personally go 5600x 100%
Or go with a 5600x? I know its a $100-$120 increase from the 3600 (non x), but I'm liking my performance gains on it. Also depends on what games are going to be played too.
I've always built my PCs, but with scalpers and the market right now, I'd say going with a reputiable prebuilt company isn't so bad either. Yes it might take longer for them to get lead time on parts, but you'd be guaranteed a PC.
Are you overheating at all? I know I had some trouble with my 580 in Apex but it would flicker blacked out textures. Also maybe try rolling back drivers? Possibly?
Need to go into DiGi + VRM (I think?) Somewhere in there you can set thermal limit and other settings. Depending on cooling, set to 130% on the settings. Anthony can explain it better than me.
I've never had my MSI cards produce a lot of coil whine. Do you lose performance under big gaming load? Have you stress tested it in any programs? It could be just that particular card. Not saying its normal, but some cards have slight coil whine. Not all, but some.
