  1. Thanks, will try this out in the morning and repeat back. J
  2. Hi All, I"m a complete linux CLI noob, but trying to set up a minecraft server for my little brother. Everything works fine, however, I have to SSH in and run the startup script (via start.sh found here), however, this closes if I close SSH. I tried following this tutorial, however, it's not worked. Could someone provide me with a fool proof way of getting to start the server. Currently, my rc.local looks like this: # Print the IP address _IP=$(hostname -I) || true if [ "$_IP" ]; then printf "My IP address is %s\n" "$_IP" fi /home/pi/Minecraft_Server/./start.sh & exit 0 Thanks, J
  3. Currently on a night shift, doing some research on a query I got - easier to have it open on my Mac rather than the work PC. Also, Spotify in the background.
  4. Having issues where Floatplane says I’m not subscribed to anything. Anyone else having similar issues?
  5. Work is currently running on Windows 7 Professional (IIRC), however, I myself at home am running a Mac, and I don't think any of my housemates have a Windows PC either. I'll look into it, I'm going home this weekend, so may use my desktop which runs on Windows.
  6. Thanks! Probably easier to go for hardware encrypted drives. I'll contact IT and see what they'd accept.
  7. Hi All, The organisation I work for requires AES-256 bit encryption on flash drives in order to write on them at work. I'm new to encrypted drives, but I know that there are drives available with hardware encryption. However, could I possibly encrypt my current flash drive with software, and would that mean I would then require that software to be installed on work computers? Thanks, J
  8. Not sure if this is available in Canada, but what about a Raspberry Pi and Kodi?
  9. Trying plugging it into a high amerpage USB wall socket, see if that charges it.
  10. I'm more than sure that's a Samsung Note 4 in the picture? Does the phone charge, does it vibrate when you switch on?

    IP Camera Setup

Thanks! Why would you prefer premade cables? I'd use custom cables so I could manage the cables much better and drill smaller holes and keep everything tidy.
  12. Hi All, I'm looking at creating a IP CCTV setup for a friend for his business, and was wondering if there's any suggestions or concerns that may be present. The list of the equipment is as follows: http://amzn.eu/78ywW3x I'm going to be using 4 x WD Purple Drives and 6 Cameras. I'm using that particular switch so that I can set up link aggregation so there's no bottlenecks. If anyone has used QNAP Surveillance Station, can you access the camera feed outside the network, possibly using 4G whilst using a dynamic external IP address? Does QNAP have their own dynamic DNS service, or do I have to use something like DynDNS or the likes, and will the phone app support that? Thanks, J

  14. Have you tried Windows and P? Have you removed any old drivers you may have had?
  15. Yeah, means for no redundancy. I'll pitch him the idea of using IP cams.
