So I had this thought, In the prank video where Luke says he can't drive a standard transmission. Maybe it would be funny and interesting to see how someone who has never driven one, reacts to one. The video wouldn't have to be very long.

WAIT HOLD UP. WE DONT WANT LINUS'S PERSONAL PC. The case has a lot of meaning to him guys. It was a gift from his wife. I believe it was the first gift from her too.
EDIT: Thanks for all the likes guys! Hopefully Linus or someone from LMG will read this and this will make Linus keep his build. Even if the goal of 100k is made we should convince Linus to do another build maybe, with signatures from the whole LMG family and maybe even his wife. This would let Linus keep the build he has with the special case his wife gave him. Besides, his personal PC would be more special to him than us.

At first I was really disappointed at NVidia for making just another tablet. Now, as long as they do update the original shield sooner or later, I think it could fit in. Also if it causes a price drop on the original shield, I will be quite happy. If I were to buy one, I would definitely not buy the controller, and use it just as a tablet. The ability to stream from a PC to a TV would be very compelling as well. All in all, its cool that NVidia is getting into this market, just as long as they don't dump the original shield concept.

305$ for the full set up, and the shield is 199$? id rather pay they 199$ and have a damn nice experience then buy another tablet..

I thought about getting the Shield but decided to wait to see what the next product would be. Honestly would have just preferred an upgraded shield over the tablet. I wanted a shields so I could use it on Busses and Trains. Hard to use the new tablet setup in those situations. Also I would prefer a "console" device that I could leave at my TV to stream from my PC. That would be sweet and probably a lot cheaper. Love the idea of nice controllers.

I personally hate the idea. Why would I want to carry around a screen AND a controller? Can you imagine how awkward it would be to have the screen on your lap and then hold the controller? If I already need to put down a screen to game, I might as well just bring my laptop or something. I liked the original shield form factor much better.

Does no one else see the issue? k so with the first shield, you held the controller in ur hand with the screen attached, most people used this in bed or on the couch etc. with the screen now separate how the fuck are you going to use this? your going to have to prop up the screen or lay it in your lap and look down at it constantly while your awkwardly holding the controller so it doesnt get in the way. and yes i see that it has a kicstand but back to the why are people going going to be using this thing, theres no flat surfaces in bed

Note that new modules will only come out once every 5-6 months (or even longer), there is quite a gap. On top of this, there are only 5 modules in total: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/project-status
So over three years you'll only need to spend an extra $25 to get alpha access to all modules (keeping in mind you can skip alpha access for a module if it doesn't interest you and you'll keep access to already unlocked modules that will continue to gain features and patches).
 
If you're fine with this, get the Avenger. If not, get the Aurora LN and you'll be happy either way. I have the Aurora LN myself, but am looking at getting the connie package as well in the near future.

After reading the FAQ myself, it seems 'beta' is the beta of the persistence universe, once all of the current modules are complete. So you're gonna be waiting a longggg time if you don't buy alpha passes for the modules (end of 2015 at least). It's worth buying the packages now, since the prices might go up in the future, the money you save can be used to buy the alpha passes .
