  1. I'd recommend not to use Microsoft USB Creation Tool for aynthing besides downloading .ISO file. Load that .ISO file in Rufus and you're guaranteed for it to work. Use software to extract your current Windows 10 key and perhaps log in to your Microsoft account on this PC before reinstalling Windows and that should bind that installation to your account.
  2. 8700k and LGA 2066. Is someone stupid here?
  3. Q1= Notebooks and other mobile devices usually use LPDDR (low power) memory, and in notebooks it's mostly in form of SODIMM's. They're structured differently, therefore they don't fit in standard PC motherboards Q2= If you mish-mash different RAM's you'd lose benefits of faster one as it'll be downclocked to the speeds of the slowest one in the bunch.
  4. And holyyyy, I checked your PC specs and do we have simmilar taste in hardware lmao
  5. You do have to calibrate a lot but once you get it done it looks better than my IPS panel.
  6. My new TN panel on DELL S2417DG looks better than my IPS on LG panel. So it's up to the model. Also, newer TN panels look really good and much closer to IPS than before. And once you go high refresh rate, you can't go back. I have 24" model which is 1440p 165Hz G-SYNC for quite cheap. There's 27" version, also 1440p but 144Hz and G-SYNC. They're around 400-500 and they go frequently on sale.
  7. Oh then my bet is on the dead motherboard. Nothing weird with Asus.
  8. Connect everything out, on top of the mobo box with minimal configuration.
  9. Are standoffs installed properly? You sure you didn't short it?
  10. If Steam just recently got it, I doubt other platforms would have that feature.
  11. I feel like at this point mining is here to stay. AMD and NVIDIA should take the risk and up the manufacturing of their mainstream cards. Though, it might take multiple months for us to see that.
  12. B350 motherboards had mostly really bad VRMs. I'm pretty sure they noticed that and hopefully made actions on it. Also it's same ZEN architecture so majority of things they're gonna deliver alongside 12nm node shrink is some clock improvements and hopefully slight IPC gains. If they managed to improve latter two, that might indicate significat rise in power consumption & power draw, which would give a warning for VRM design.
  13. Burned once on Razer and never again. I wouldn't buy another Razer product even if it was way cheaper than others. Since then Logitech all the way, haven't been disappointed yet. MIght sound like fanboy talk, but that bitternes got me some sense and decent peripherals.
  14. For $15 hardly that you'll get software and such options (like EQ, etc.). But you can get a cheap one if all you're trying is to isolate audio out of the case, which was same situation like in my case. There was some annoying buzzing and grounding issues inside so a simple USB external sound card solved (and even gave better audio). I bought it in local PC shop. Brand of the card was DELOCK, nothing special to expect.

    Does this exist?

Check for USB OTG adapter, you might have luck that way.
  16. If it's that tight budget as you said, maybe go for graphic cards with broken fans. With ghetto methods you can get even better results if you just slap 2 cheap 120mm fans.
  17. Just hold off for new and improved chipset for Ryzen 2. It's gonna be compatible but probably with just some new features (in same fashion like there way Z170 and Z270). And hopefully they'll improve VRMs on all of the new series motherboards.
  18. If I was buying right now, this would rougly be my list: Fractal Design Meshify C Silverstone RL06 (and also new version) Fractal Design Define R6 Also if you're just buying, I'd personally wait as I think Ryzen 2 is coming by the end of this month.
  19. Yeah from most I heard is that Samsung chips are much better, in different categories.
  20. Yeah you can order a tool. That's how 99% of the people do it. Rockit 88 for example or Delid-Die-Mate 2. I have a code to knock $5 off your whole purchase by Rockit Cool (makers of Rockit 88 tool). I ordered Rockit 88 and did it myself. I have even a video on how to do it.
  21. Yeah your warranty is done, but just google the results. It blew over 25°C on my 4770k, and 8700k is way hotter than 4770k. And in terms of pure risks, with a proper tool it's really not risky. They do the risky part safely. There's even gonna be a delid booth at LTX 2018. So it's something more and more enthusiasts are doing.
  22. I'd get 8700k, especially for any workload besides gaming. I'd also delid the CPU to get 30°C lower temps.
  23. Just uninstall PUBG and then find documents folder and delete all content there aswell so all settings get a refresh.
