  1. You're "probably fine" if you don't overclock your CPU. Also make sure to use 3 separate 8-pin PCIe leads from your PSU to the 4090. I'd probably opt for an undervolt on the 4090 anyway because the rated TGP is beyond insane and unnecessary.
  2. Is it actually in IT mode now or not? IR = RAID mode, which will not work. which HP server is is exactly? Did you update all firmwares of the latest versions? The backplanes that contain the expander also have firmware that might need an update.
  3. Yeah, it's fine for a 95W chip but hot damn, 250W is a problem even for a NH-D15. Should be looking for at least a 280 AIO with a thicc boi rad.
  4. As long as you use separate leads for each block of PCIe power connectors on the card, no y-cables, you should be fine.
  5. Then an off-site cloud storage service would be perfect. I'd recommend looking into the OneDrive plans on Microsoft's website. It's $20 a year for 100GB iirc and $69 for a full Office suite + 1TB onedrive.
  6. What kind of files do you need and how many gigs do you need to access? Because there are some very simple options if it's just documents and things. I.e. Dropbox and OneDrive. They have a limit of 2GB and 5GB for the free plans, respectively. OneDrive integrates with Windows and can host your entire user directory if enabled. You can then access those files from anywhere with the OneDrive software and online.
  7. Keep in mind that running a nested hypervisor is really not recommended. I'd install KVM from the Linux command line in SCALE with a web frontend and go from there.
  8. Keep in mind there are other license foibles involved with Essentials, much like the SBS product that preceded it. Should've just bought standard instead and conform to the Microsoft licensing scheme. What do you need 64 cores for anyway? Surely it's going to be a hypervisor as there's no use for a bare metal 64-core server.
  9. In most of Europe a 980Ti (very old card btw) is going for around €150-200 now (roughly the same in USD).
  10. Yes and no. FTP and SMB are both unsafe to use across the internet without a proper firewall and IP whitelisting. For a home user, a VPN is preferred.
  11. What are you trying to do? Did you literally add a USB HDD to a router? Did you enable file sharing services and a share to connect to? What is port 444 supposed to do? That's a non-standard port and will not do anything unless it's specifically pointing to a service running on your network that is configured to use that port. Kind reminder, don't forward port 445 for SMB over the internet. Also don't use FTP without any encryption or an external IP whitelist. Ideally, use a VPN to connect to internal resources.
  12. I really wouldn't make an assumption about power draw until the final reviews are in, let alone spending good money on a PSU that might not be a good buy in the end. Keep in mind a PSU is much less efficient under 50% load than it is between 50 and 80% load.
  13. Yep. 512MB is below minimum requirements. The 660M should have 1-2GB actually. If it only has 512MB usable, I'm guessing faulty VRAM or a neutered card that is literally useless for any game after 2012 or so.

    Why, Domino's?! Just...why???

Glad I live in a country where tips are not expected or required. In fact, no money is to be exchanged at the door in any case.

They charge for delivery and still want a tip? Lmao get fucked
  16. As safe as driving without a seatbelt. You might have an impact and die, you might not.
  17. That's 60% without SMT But what's keeping you from trying it? You have the CPU already.

I still hate windows 10 with a passion. Which i…

Might as well downgrade to Vista. Unpopular, but it always worked great for me, lmao :D
  19. This. I'd go for the $3 a month Exchange Online plans with Microsoft, personally. Excellent service overall. Webhosting with any cheapo hosting provider that fits your requirements. Still cheaper a month than running an FX system. Self hosting e-mail will 90% guaranteed cause spam issues. Your ISP might not even allow you to run a server yourself.
  20. You don't, is the short version of it. iOS didn't have any 1st party file management until iOS 11 in 2017. Apple told you that you didn't need it so the only way to transfer files was through iTunes. The longer version is finding an old version of FileBrowser (paid) that works on iOS 9 will allow you to browse the file system to some degree.
  21. What are the temps like at full 100% load (prime95)? 50c at 300MHz is rather high imo.
  22. Windows 10 will need internet access to download the drivers. 11 may have the driver built-in. You'll need another PC with working internet to download the drivers ideally and put them on a flash drive as mentioned above, then install the drivers and off you go. If this is not possible, take the PC to a repair shop and have them do it.
  23. Try installing with an external monitor attached, does the same scrambled display phenomenon occur then? Does this laptop have "dual graphcs" by any chance, so onboard IGP as well as a dGPU? If yes, have you tried disabling the dGPU until Windows is installed? I know of similar issues with Sony Vaio laptops back in 2015 when W10 was new and needing to disable the AMD dGPU in order to complete the install.
  24. All of the coolers that use the dual clip design to wrap around the retention bracket will work on sockets 754 through AM4, so that's what you should look for.
  25. Give Dell a call. If you can't reactivate your key without a reinstall and you didn't buy one of those shady grey market keys, Dell will need to fix it for you
