Looks like a solid phone, i particularly like the sound of the long battery life.

Does this mean that monitors with higher refresh rates like 120Hz+ experience less tearing because they can keep up more with the graphics card drawing frames?
-
Actually i kind of agree with you. The 7990 is now at super cheap prices, ive seen it at about $670 AUD and no matter which way you put it, a 7990 GHz will beat a single R9 290X. If you only want one card then get the 7990 but if you plan to upgrade get the 290X. Although with your 3x monitor setup the 290X is aimed at higher resolutions such as 4K. You'll save a bit of money getting a 7990 and maybe a bit more performance initially but if you plan to upgrade get a 290X and XF it later.

Hopefully.. if you wait a bit you might be able to pick up just the card without BF4 and save some money?

It would appear to be $799 like it is in the link to PLE and yes that includes tax

The RRPs, according to the leak, are as follows: R9 290X – €649 (£550) (~$799 AUD) R9 290 – €519 (£440) (~$630 AUD) R9 280X – €279 (£235) (~$337 AUD R9 270X Hawk – €219 (£185) (~$266 AUD) R9 270X Gaming – €199 (£170) (~$243 AUD) R7 260X OC – €129 (£110) (~$157 AUD) R7 250 – €95 (£80) (~$115 AUD) Reference: http://videocardz.com/46558/amd-radeon-r9-290x-r9-290-european-pricing-unveiled

We better wait for linus and Slick to run some benchmarks so we can compare and then see if the R9 290X lives up to the hype it has made... Personally i hope it does!

R9 Series available for Pre-Order in New Zealand.
PCPlus replied to Sigmatech's topic in Graphics Cards
As an Aussie i think we (including NZ) get overcharged a bit on a lot of the tech we buy. I too would really like to see the 290/290x hold up or beat Nvidia's current GPUs! If AMD is able to provide similar or better performance then we'll definitely see prices start to drop on both sides until we reach an equilibrium in pricing. Taking this as an example an Nvidia GTX 780 pricing comparison between two popular stores in Canada and Australia. NCIX sells an ASUS DirectCU II OC GTX 780 for $729.00 (http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=88434&vpn=GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5&manufacture=ASUS) whilst the same card in australia is worth $849.00 (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1483&products_id=24153) BUT i have started to see the pricing of both AMD's especially and Nvidia's GPU prices starting to go down This for example is what i'm talking about: (http://msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=10788) An AMD 7990 6GB for $679.00 AUD!!! If AMD can provide strong competition prices are going to go down and make EVERYONE happy! -
My brother runs a GTX 670 on latest Nvidia drivers and has no problems running on high/ultra ~40-70 fps averaging 55

If enough people show interest u can get anyone to change their minds, just look at xbox one's sharing policy. I cant see why not its a world related issue and other governments should take notice.
