EDIT: Holy-Never freaking mind! thats actually an amazing deal if you can fix the pins... except i still can't afford it.

Yes, 64 times faster than the Pentium 4. Now you may be asking "but Crunchy, 4x64 =/= 64". Glad you asked! The Athlon 64 by itself is 32 times faster than the Pentium 4, but once you add the 'X2' to the Athlon 64, it multiplies that by 2. Is clearly superior choice for gaming PC.

But wait, If you are running a 64 bit OS then it multiplies again right? double the speed of a 32 bit,

The HD60 seems to be about 150, are there any reliable capture cards cheaper or is that pretty standard?

What about this guy on amazon

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MYWBG1I/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1GL48MCCW80M9&psc=1

Elgato delivers support and a product you know will reliably work. The link you sent seems reasonable but has a ton of complaints about corruption, hard to use and not working on consoles.

    Hey Lady's & Gents

So here is my problem, I am looking to do a build for my brother. I am in Canada and I am going to be taking it to the UK.

I know back in the day some power supply's used to have the switch at the back but I have not seen them on any in the past 4 year's.

So does it now have a tolerance to be able to just go without and has like a auto inverter or do I and should I still be looking for a power supply with the switch?

    Look forward to the reply's

    Thanks.

Most PSU's nowadays are multi-voltage, but check just in case. If not then us a step up/down transformer

    1. Budget & Location

The budget is between $500 - $600 US dollars. Would consider going above the budget depending. Location: California.

    2. Aim

This build is going to be mainly used for Video game editing, rendering multiple projects, Youtube, Streaming on twitch or any platform.

    3. Monitors

I plan on running 2 monitors only, They are 4K monitors. No I do not plan on moving to more monitors in the future.

    4. Monitor case

Any cool reasonably priced case for the build.

    5. Peripherals

We have Peripherals already. Yes I will need an OS preferably windows.

    6. Why are you upgrading?

This my very first build and would really like the help from the community and professionals. please make it easy for me to distinguish the parts needed in order.

If we get the right build we will most likely do a youtube video and give a shout out to the computer build we decide to go with.

    Thank you all in advance!

600~$ is a little low for streaming and editing, Especially for 2 4K monitors, do you plan on gaming?

don't need anything fancy or expensive, just something that will get the job done, streaming sims

The only known brand I know is Elgato with the HD60 & pro cards. Maybe AVerMedia?

how the hell do you have 300 up and down? I only have 50 up and 10 down

Fiber?, technically you can nearly get 1000mb/s on my current board.

sorry for the lack of clarity, i keep seeing lga 1155 motherboards on ebay from china for about 60 dollars, and do you guys actually think they work or are they just garbage o' trickery?

As long as it's not the 1€ boards that just send you a pen. They will work but are usually rebranded boards with NO support. It's a risky move and I would recommend against it. If you're on a tight budget go for second hand.

    the cpu is non-overclockable

It is with custom BIOS from before intel locked them. However, you risk bricking a board with a weird bios like I did 2 weeks ago... It works but is risky.

I have the same setup but 16gb ram. Overclock your cpu and it should be fine

Honestly, the OC would make little difference, I didn't notice much more than a couple frames when i had it up in the 4.3 zone.

the game has no problem running, i am on a wireless connection but i get 15 upload and 100+ download. what settings do you use in obs? im probably going to wire my pc anyway.

I have 300 up and down, I have not streamed in a while but I recall using medium settings and a bitrate that was not high. You will have to experiment a bit see what works best.
