  1. Linus has spoken at length about how bad it is that game developers are allowed to remove servers and not give an alternative. A youtuber with 300K subscribers has created an opening to work on this issue, and explains it here. Maybe a good topic for WAN show?
  2. The use would be the CUDA cores and other Nvidia technologies for any AI or programs I'd need to or want to write. So there isn't any reason for me to NEED a quadro card, it's just the option they have given me.
  3. I am looking for a laptop for my computer science classes in uni next year, the deal that they offer me is this one: link to site from uni, is in English the deal is for €1100. That feels like a deal hard to beat, but I don't know a lot about laptops, so I hope some of you might be able to help me decide if this is a good deal or not. My budget for any other deal/laptop is at or below €1100. Also, I live in the Netherlands, so the shop should be able to ship there for a reasonable price. My use cases are mostly programming and a very small amount of gaming, I mostly play Minecraft and Factorio. So a real gaming beast really isn't needed. If you need any more info just ask.
  4. I only has cheap shitty stuffs
  5. I'm now using a poor old icidu $5 keyboard. I'd really love to get a mechanical keyboard.
  6. Hi guys, I have a problem with my mouse. It seems to randomly 'slow down' like the sensitivity goes down the drain for a couple of seconds, and then goes back up to normal. I have a ICIDU mouse, (AI-707928). it came with a keyboard, the keyboard has no problems, but in case you can use it, this is the number: AI-707947. The problem started about three weeks ago, I searched a bit around on the internet, but could not find anything. ~Matjojo
  7. That just really hurts my brain. Like they even have this new show 'ncis cyber' and they still do that shit. They'll have this dude that stole and Iphone and then they call it and using the calling phone copy all data to a random pc and get the location by 'hacking' into the phone
  8. the only thing I can find is cup holders for a BMW door, nothing on 5.25in cup holders EDIT: ebay has only BMW parts. Aliexpress only has car parts and dildos-_- some car pieces looked like they might fit, but there where no real pc holders, the search continues... EDIT2: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1104463 a sig lighter and a cup holder, discontinued EDIT3: https://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/ezbake.shtml?cpg=cj&ref=&CJURL=&CJID=2470763 a heater for 'stroopwafels' and other hot snacks
  9. I like those scripts both, but windows can do that from itself too, and i'm pretty sure ubuntu and other linux distros can also do that, what is the use of getting a script to do it?
  10. this has nothing to do with your post, but for the longest of times I've tried to find out what that racoon 6:1 thing is about, but all the google indexes go to this forum, care to tell us?
  11. please, never use softonic, it is litteraly the worst. It just adds virusses and other mallware to whatever you download, and most of the time don't even have the newest version anyway,.
  12. Thanks a lot, might I ask why you would want a 550W PSU when the system actually will use less then 200W? EDIT: would that CPU come with a cooler?
  13. so I checked some benches, and the 380 indeed as faster and the same prize, thanks a lot. I'll also replace the PSU.
  14. Most of the time I'm on this forum to have fun/help others, but my not so tech savvy asked me to help him get the pats for a budget PC, I have made a pc build on pcpartpicker for what I thought was the best system for the prize. but I'd like it if you guys/girls could take a look and maybe advice me to get some other parts. 1. Budget & Location The budget is 450-500 euros, and I am in the netherlands. 2. Aim The system is going to be the main pc for my friend, it is going to be used for regular browsing, but also for gaming, he does not really cares about playing on low settings, but he does want the best he can get for his money. 3. Monitors The pc will be running on a VGA 1366*768P monitor. It might upgrade to 1080P, but not anywhere soon. 4. Peripherals The pc build does not need any perifirals, and he also already has a 1TB HDD that he'll be using for this pc, so the budget will not include: storage mouse keyboard screen windows 5. Why are you upgrading? He want to update because he now always works with an 3+ years old laptop, that even at that moment was budget oriented. 6. Extra info He does not really care about his case, as long as it is black its okay. Because I am in the Netherlands I have a pcpartpicker with some items that are not on pcpartpicker, but ARE in the Netherlands, for those I have a link to the manufacturers website. Here is the pcpartpicker that I created: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XGp6YJ CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($124.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: R9 980 link to dutch website ($173.98) Mobo: B150A-X1 ($89.90) Ram: Crucial DDR4 4GB*2 ($40.00) Case: Bitfenix Nova Black ($35.00) PSU: XFX TS 550W link to dutch site ($40.00) Total: E530
