    Broke my arm pretty bad. (Not my arm - just an example) Notice how there's two different bones - I landed on the side of my arm and broke the first one, which then got pushed in and hit the other one so hard that it broke too... There was nothing holding my wrist to the rest of my arm and it hurt pretty bad. (not as bad as I would have expected it to, though) My left wrist isn't as wide as my right one now.

    I've been programming for years and the idea of making an OS from scratch still makes me cringe. We're talking writing your own drivers for graphics, sound, etc. Not easy for even the most advanced programmers. DO NOT even try to do this as your first programming project because you're going to get absolutely nowhere. Long story short: There's a reason so many companies use Linux and don't make their own OS from scratch.

    Using a framework like Bootstrap (or the much better choice, Foundation) is actually extremely beneficial and saves time and money. However, you shouldn't use them as a way to avoid learning CSS - only use a Framework when you get the point where you could make one yourself anyways. Also, don't use SASS or LESS until you've learned basic CSS already, they'll just make you more confused

    Lol, 800x480 looks TERRIBLE on a 4" screen, this one is 7"... Obviously you can't expect much from this tablet but I can only imagine what that screen looks like

    Keep in mind that the console is it's own separate object, so anything you do to it won't affect another object.

    iOS usually runs only the app in the foreground and is very aggressive about what processes can run in the background. Apps that download large files, play music, or interact with Bluetooth devices (think Pebble) are the only ones that can run in the background as far as I know. And once that action stops the app is killed immediately. Sorry if someone else already said this but I didn't read the whole thread.

    Why do some people have the notion that it's bad to give kids nice things? There's a difference between having nice things and being spoiled. If you're worried about kids appreciating what they have, the last thing you want to do is give them something crappy. Instead, you should make your kids work hard to earn what they want, which I think would make them value it more. Also, most technology could be called "highly distractive", including this forum.
