Take out your dedicated GPU and run it for a while from your iGPU.
how long should i run it from integrated graphics?
-
OK, so every time I use my computer i feel like i'm going against the clock. Every few hours under no stress the monitor connected to my GPU goes grey and crashes my computer. I have a second monitor connected to my CPU's graphics which still continues to project the last image before the crash after the computer is unusable making it fairly easy to deduce there must me some fault with the GPU. Anyone else suffering from the same issue or resolved it in the past?
any help is appreciated.
many thanks

it is also running at stock as well.

I run two monitors, one from onboard intel graphics and the other as my main display off my 7870. Recently whenever I go ingame it plays normally for approx. 2mins then the fans get outrageously loud and the video card stops outputting a signal. I am experiencing no other abnormalites so i can assume the power supply is fine as it is powering everything else without a hitch. I just need someone who knows the problem or has experienced the same to confirm or deny that my graphics card is the problem or whether it can be fixed or that i should replace it.
as always thank you guys and girls a million you're lifesavers.

You can use the build in speech command in Mac OSX. This should atleast make him able to control the computer.
There is probably also specialized software and hardware for people in his situation.
is the speech command in mac osx known to be quite reliable? but the main issue with this is parkinsons has attacked his vocals so he slurs and mumble a hell of a lot but thank you very much anyway
-
I should also mention he owns a macbook pro.

My great uncle has suffered from parkinsons for 10 years and is deteriorating quite rapidly now. He is having to change alot of stuff in his lifestyle to even survive. But this is a matter of enjoyment I suppose, My Grandpa Skypes him as he lives in Boston and we're in the UK. It's just a way for him to connect to his family and is really a lifeline for him. Now though he cannot even see the screen properly and if you're familar with parkinsons you know it causes shakes. This means he cant even control the mouse or see what he is doing; making it a whole lot harder for him to communicate with us over here. He is an acamdemic, he was a dean at MIT and now can barely read a book or focus on a computer screen for more than 5 minutes, as you can understand this is extremely frustrating for him and I just want to see if there is any suggestions from you lot to improve this situation. Any feedback will be much appreciated and thank you for your time.

1.0.4.0 isn't the best patch in terms of stableness. ICEnhancer is ported to EFLC patch so you could try that, just back it up. Could also be your newish GPU that it can't handle. With my 7970 I had to use " -norestrictions -nomemrestrict" ( in launch options)to actually get it to work.
thank you so much it worked!

Did you install all the patches?
not that i know of, i kept it at 1.04 because icenchancer and its been working fine for ages but today i finally gave into GFWL and it seems to have messed stuff up
-
What GPU are you using?
When i first installed my 780ti It locked the lowest settings and resolution in and would not let me adjust,
the issue for me was GTA IV does not support more than 2GB of VRAM Natively.
7870 so i dont have more than 2gb to worry about
-
As we all know by now GTA IV may be thee worst port in history (GFWL, glitches, terrible graphical settings ect.) but this takes it too far i don't know why my game has started doing this but it makes the game unplayable if anyone has suffered form this problem and fixed it i would appreciate the help!

i'm not quite sure if a desk comes under periphereals but i didn't see a more fitting place to put. Saying that i have most probably overlooked for desks but whatever. Title says it all so do you have any suggestions?
-
And that says the man who have a i5 and not this awesome xeon processor. ( read your rig thing if it's not correct. )
hey the 780 is an amazing card, i'm allowed to say that even though i don't own one...

I don't like terribly low FPS with 8800GTS...

i would like to OC i had a build in mind that was with all the parts i listed above plus these cpu>Amd Fx 8350 MB> asus sabertooth>case>coolmaster haf 912 cpu cooler> hyperevo 212 > psu> moudule one 750w bronze cert what are your opnions on that build
1. don't spend that much of your budget on a board 2. get a better cooler than that i've used that one in the past and overclocked and my cpu overheated. 3. why do you need a 750w if you don't have a graphics card? even if you do get a 500w psu it's more than enough
What Case Is Right For Me?
