  1. Oh didn't see that. I guess the hype overwhelmed me. But he never said anything about dem cables doe.
  2. Insta follow once again. Are you gonna do anything crazy with this build? Like the water cooling pass through plate on the r40 build, or that beautiful cable management?
  3. Hey when you upgrade to pascal, can you send one 980 ti please.
  4. Thanks man. I'll probably halve the feed rate and the rpm cause I'm using the quiet cut spindle, that should achieve the same feed per tooth ratio.
  5. You can't really get anything good for under $100 in rc. HobbyKing has their basher short course trucks that I have heard to be decent and they're under $200 I believe.
  6. Looks good man. Can you tell me the spindle speed, feed rate and bit that you are using for aluminium. I'm sill trying to get that perfected.
  7. Yet another awesome silent computing build. I don't quite get how the coprocessor works. So does it just act like another CPU or something? Could you maybe use this for ray tracing in CAD, cause that takes age for me.

Getting on that SketchUp grind. New build comin…

I taught myself CAD as well, I didn't have enough subject lines to do graphics . But now I literally just render everyone of my projects out before building it.

Yeah I guess. I swear I'm going to be so sad when my student Autodesk account expires. I guess I'll have to start learning Fusion cuase I usually use Inventor and Autocad.

Why not use fusion 360. Just more powerful IMO. Can't wait to see the build BTW.
  11. Hyperx cloud core is definitely worth it if you don't want all the extras of the other models. Super comfortable, but you lose out on the velour earcups.
  12. I would love to get the keyboard cause I really want to get good mechanical keyboard, but don't have the funds to do so. Plus the blue lighting would match my setup
  13. Is the g410 comfortable to type with? Many reviews say that the keycaps make it less comfortable to type with. Maybe I'll have to wait till the tkl version of the g810 comes out.
  14. Dave 2D did an Ultrabook showdown recently, I think he said that the xps13 was his favourite. but you can check it out for yourself and see what features you care most about.
  15. Can you show us how you do that without damaging anything, cause I'm really interested. It would either be plastidip for my build or a motherboard cover of some kind.
  16. Noice, I've always been interested in carbon fibre, but it has always proven way too expensive for my needs.
  17. Good luck man, if I were you, I would start of by making a case out of steel. It is a lot easier to weld and it is not as hard on your grinding tools, aluminium sticks to grinding tools like crazy. And when you weld steel you don't have to worry about other parts of your case melting while you are working in one area.
  18. project athena banner by nmrci1, on Flickr So school has started again, and to any Australians reading this, hope you had a great Australia day. So when I got back from holidays, my first task was to complete the install of the new QuietCut spindle. Here's the poor old spindle that died in the effort of conquering the final frontier. Steel. IMG_1126 by nmrci1, on Flickr May you forever rest in peace good friend. And here's the spindle to replace it. IMG_1127 by nmrci1, on Flickr It's so shiny you can see yourself in it! IMG_1128 by nmrci1, on Flickr And her's the wiring if you are interested, you need to run another psu at 48v just to power the spindle. I did my best with the cable management, but I think i still need an intake fan to help cool all of this equipment, what do you think. IMG_1141 by nmrci1, on Flickr I am happy to report that with my initial testing, the spindle makes a more pleasant sound and less of it too. The noise more spread over the lower frequencies rather than the higher ones, it almost sounds like a muffled version of the old one. If you guys are interested in a more in depth tour of the wiring and so on, I will hopefully release another video next weekend (as soon as figure out how to use Davinci Resolve), so subscribe to my Youtube channel so you don't miss it. Apart from that I have also been doing a lot more research on machining steel, and from what I've found, my feeds and speeds are about right, 300m/s @ 12000rpm. Also managed to improve the lighting of my workbench IMG_1145 by nmrci1, on Flickr I think I still need a light in front to be able to get really nice photos. And I finished the first panel of the psu cover. IMG_1147 by nmrci1, on Flickr From my experimentation, I found that making a rough cut first with a jigsaw, then cleaning it up a bit with the dremel and a carbide cutting bit and finally finish it of with the grinder. This is my last year of school, so I'm going to quite pinned down by studies and school projects, meaning this thread might not progress as fast as it did last year, but I hope you guys bear with me and stay tuned till I finish this project. Cheers, nmil
  19. I think Jayztwocents had a similar problem in his skunkworks build. Maybe try a different brand of pastel or go with a clear fluid.
  20. Dude did you see the new asus rog 21:9 monitor shown at ces. It looks evn better than the acer. 2 of those and your setup would be baller.
