  1. Tyler's request to see Linus on a horse has finally come to pass!
  2. Feel like I'm the only one who got that Borat reference. Nice one Linus.
  3. Extremely neat, but I can't help but think every time how much easier this would be on Unix/Linux. Not really an easy way around that though as long as use you use Premier and don't want to Hackintosh or something.
  4. There's the original FreeGeek in Portland, but they really don't deal much with stuff this vintage nor ship large items.
  5. G7 seems a bit too new to call sleeper, those things still pack a real punch. I'd hate to see anything SGI made go to waste as a sleeper build. @AlexTheGreatish, I think I might have the thing for you if you're looking for a sleeper server. It's an IBM eserver xSeries 350 8682: 4U, quad Pentium III Xeons at 700 MHz, and up to 16GB or RAM. Oh, and it weighs 75 lbs. As far as I know, it still boots, though I can't say I exactly remember firing it up. If you (or really anyone else with a good use for it) is interested in it, let me know. If you want to see one in action, look at this video:
  6. Wait a minute... "Preview"... didn't we have a discussion about this already? Guys, this title is misleading–hell, this is almost exactly a copy of the very video that sparked the Episode 5 of Honest Answers about clickbait. This isn't a preview; maybe it's a performance preview. You told us to let you know when things are going wrong, so I'm doing it. I know this video doesn't have the dislikes of the Ryzen 5 one, and I'm probably the minority, but adding another word or two in the title isn't going to keep anyone from clicking on it and does a lot for accuracy.
  7. $1000 for a mineral oil tank seems a bit much... It's a bunch of acrylic. Cut in on that fancy laser cutter? Anyways if someone wants one I've got a spare one that I'm not using. Dunking components in oil is scary.
  8. Probably easier just to hire someone for the day to do it.
  9. The GPUs at least are passing a FireStrike run. Not sure if the CPUs are stable that high tho. Anyone know if it just needs to POST that high or actually run?
  10. Title. Looking at some of the overclocks achieved by the competitive overclocking community, they're often well above 2x stock speeds. Has anyone actually tried gaming or other applications on these cards to see if the gains in synthetics translate well to real world games/applications? The hardware for these overclocks often is pretty reasonable: 1080Tis and... Piledriver CPUs... or a 7740X if you're willing to drop down a few hundred places. At least someone found a use for Kaby Lake X. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyways it'd make for a nice clickbaity accurate and interesting title too. GAMING ON A 7GHz CPU!
  11. Got my like on this video. I won't say I like and share every video–that's disingenuous. I'd like to think of myself as something more than a blind fanboy, but putting out quality content will get my like, so you get it with this one. With that said, I have a genuine complaint about the titles and descriptions (more so than the thumbnails, but they go hand in hand.) The issue I'm confronted with wasn't spoken about in the video, and given your interest in finding new viewers, I think it's a tenable argument. Because of the clickbait titles, it can be difficult to search for and find content relating to a specific project. "WORLD'S UGLIEST KEYBOARD" may be memorable and get clicks, but without relevant information in the description, it's harder to find when searching and when scrolling through said results. In the case of the keyboard video and Ryzen 5 performance preview, these were non-issues because the important info was in the description, but I'd like to caution against it.
  12. Totally not a ripoff of RTX
  13. It has a certain look to be sure, but hey, whatever floats your boat. However, no *way* should this be a HOLY $H!T episode. There's nothing particularly extreme about a stylish server rack. And come on with the clickbait titles. I've been saying this for a while now: 1. Catchy but accurate phrase. 2. Product name. 3. Additional info. Something like "Stylish Server Rack: iStar whateverit'scalled." It really helps when searching for a product to actually have the name of said product in the title. Yes, the core viewer base isn't people chancing upon the video, but it certainly helps, and it may expand the viewer base. Hey, at least the thumbnail is good this time.
