  1. Well assuming 1080p is the highest resolution you'll be playing at, go for a GTX 960 or R9 380 - both will do the job equally as well, it just depends what added features you'll prefer (G Sync vs FreeSync, Better DX12 support with the AMD card etc)
  2. Well you won't be able to stream as FLAC files through Google music, which makes it a little futile. I'd convert them, you only really need FLAC's for archive storage so you always have a lossless file to convert into other file types should you need to. I'd convert them to high bit rate MP3 (assuming you have the headphones to take advantage of that) and store them on your phone if you have the room. I just bought a 64GB microSD card to do the same with my collection of music.
  3. Sorry about that, some forum members get a little tired of some members not structuring their posts - for $300 you could easily get a fairly overkill GPU for Rocket League, what resolution are you playing at?
  4. What do you mean by performance issues? It won't put any more strain on your CPU if that's what you mean, but games that are naturally more CPU bound will have noticeably smaller performance increase compared to games that are more GPU driven. Then there's the usual issues with crossfire and SLI in that neither will scale perfectly and some games won't scale at all. I'd recommend you upgrade that CPU to reap the full benefits of dual GPU's though, as CPU bound games won't get much of a boost without the upgrade.
  5. I really wouldn't recommend a third GTX 980 Ti. On average you only get 60-70% scaling with a second GPU, but with a third you're probably going to get 20-25% extra performance at the most.
  6. As long as all of the other factors I look for are accounted for (air flow, heat build up and adequate cable management) then I really prefer more space efficient cases. That's not to say I don't like big cases. My previous build was in an Enthoo Primo - but being smaller than a 900D and being able to fit 2x480mm radiators while still keeping one drive cage and 2 5.25" bays populated, 2x 290X lightning editions and a tube reservoir. If I were to build another PC though, purely for gaming, I'd definitely go with an mATX build - I think for a gamer they tick all the boxes while still offering enough upgrade paths for long term upgrades like 2-way SLI/Crossfire.
  7. Yeah, I max every game out at 1440p to the point where I'm having to use V-Sync on most games with my 60Hz monitor. The first thing I would upgrade would be to get a 144Hz G-Sync monitor over another 980 Ti.
  8. The Master Case relies heavily on modded or custom parts built by the community, so unless you have a 3D printer and plan on designing your own parts, I'd go for the Enthoo Pro.
  9. This. The 390X has the performance of a cherry picked, overbuilt 290X, something like the 290X lightning is a good performance and build comparison.
  10. Check the giveaway details again. It's supposed to be announced on the 30th of September if my memory serves me correctly.
  11. I used to use a case all the time for my phone, but a few years back decided to go bareback with nothing on my phone and just be careful with it. I've never cracked my phone screen since! I'd just go for a tempered glass screen protector and maybe a skin if you really want to keep your phone from being scratched.
  12. No buddy you should be fine. Most GTX 980 Ti's seem to be reaching around 8GHz on their memory clocks. Without touching the core clock I got mine safely to 8.4GHz but had to back it down to 7.4GHz to get my core clock up to 1500+MHz stable.
  13. I agree, this might be the kind of brute-force action needed to force the automotive industry to move a little faster when it comes to the technology security it implements in its cars. That said, the Car companies we're talking about here are large and dominant in the market. Without any financial incentive to do so, it's hard to see them changing their ways in a big enough way to make a difference any time soon.
  14. I've never heard of anyone having problems with the company they're twinned with - Gainward. Gainward seem to be the more premium of the companies line-ups though. The Phantom series GPU's were always very good.
  15. Oh dear...from your post I take it you haven't run Star Citizen, nor do you currently play it on a PC? First of all, what is your budget? Any other use case at all other than playing Star Citizen? Firstly, in my opinion it's very ill-advised to plan a build for a game that has yet to release, but if you really want to, that leads to point number 2. Star Citizen is extremely demanding. SLI GTX 970's may do the trick for 1080p AT THE MOMENT. The game is still in development so it may well turn out that it requires even more horsepower to run than that. Star Citizen is going to support 6 and 8 core processors with 4 being the minimum I believe, but whether this is including hyperthreading or not remains to be seen. Yes it is fine not to overclock. Overclocking is mainly for those who want to get as much performance from their systems as possible
  16. You can have the H100i installed and fit a rear fan in just fine bud. I have a Corsair H105 installed and the rear fan isn't blocked at all. All you need to do is slide the rear fan down to the bottom of the rails it's screwed into. That will give you enough room to mount it. Bear in mind that you'll have to have your tubing coming from the right side of the case, as with the rear fan installed there is not enough room to squeeze tubing between it and the radiator. Hope that helps!
  17. I'd guess not considering he asked about how effective the fans are on the coolers of their respective graphics cards.
  18. That's true. It's looking like full DX12 support will benefit the Fury cards quite a bit, as the lack of full support on Nvidia's side has restricted performance, although this has only been measured in one game. Once more games and benchmarks come out for DX12 then we'll know more on just how much the GTX 980 Ti is suited to DX12 or not.
  19. I've got a Zotac AMP! Extreme edition and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. It stays passive playing games like Fallout 3, New Vegas and even Skyrim. Never goes about 66 degrees and the fan usually hovers at around 40-50% in demanding games. My stock boost clock without any overclocking was 1430MHz core 7220MHz memory. After Overclocking I'm able to run 1515MHz core and 8220MHz memory clock stable but with +87mV on the core and 111% power limit.
  20. At what point did giving a guy some advice about talking to a girl turn into some kind of weird, nerdy dick measuring contest? Jeez. OP: Ignore most of the posts past page 3, there's some solid advice in the first few pages but things quickly degrade from there. Good luck buddy, I hope thinks work out well for you
  21. I'd love to get an ultrawide for open world games like Fallout 4...you're a lucky man!
  22. A 20" ultrawide? I think you may be looking in the wrong place. The smallest ultrawide monitors I know of are 25" 2560x1080 monitors.
  23. 10 tabs open, getting about 5% usage regardless of where I am on the page.
  24. TheDigitalRealm

I moved my secondary monitor (pb278q) into port…

    That's a 27" 1440p monitor right? :O
  25. Another good point! OP: If you are introverted and you guys have been talking for a little while up until now then she's probably already picked up on that. Is she the type to start conversations with you first and change topics of conversation first? If so the conversation shouldn't be too difficult to get going.
