  1. I do think 64gb on just quad core is overkill and just plain wasteful, so I'm gonna point him out about picking a different platform for more core/threaded chips. Also, he will be uprading to a 144hz 32" ultrawide.
  2. If I remember correctly, he has the ROG router, which I believe he will be plugging in via ethernet cable. So it's not WiFi, maybe a killer built-in sound card perhaps?
  3. I personally don't know, he said he wanted the deluxe features but mentioned nothing specific. I'm guessing he saw my build and wanted something similar.
  4. Yeah I figured, guess we'll have to a decent featured mobo close to a deluxe one.
  5. I think my friend really wanted the features on the Deluxe mobo which I can't find one for the z270 yet.
  6. It's compatible though I've seen the Potential Issues / Incompatibilities from PCPartpicker, Some Intel Z170 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaby Lake-S CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.
  7. I'd like to ask LTT community for suggestions on a build I'm gonna assemble for a friend. Restrictions are $3,700 budget strictly Amazon only-vendor, closed-loop, no RGB (minimal if any), 64gb ram, M.2 SSD for OS, SSD for the rest, 1080TI-SLI, Black and white themed. Thanks Here's what I have messed with so far Build LINK
  8. See what I'm taking about at this LTT thread. EDIT: Fold@home is what I'm talking about.
  9. Ninite software. Convenient but has too much access to your pc. Just make sure all the stuff is hooked up correctly, monitor temps at low and full loads (HW monitor), CPU overclock use your bios, GPU overclock use MSI Afterburner. Bunch of benchmark softwares out there, some free; some for a fee- 3DMark, Unigine, etc.

If I bought it for a full price of $899 then hell no.
  11. It just needed to be broken-in as for low-full load cycle. Have you tried mining with it for an hour or two and see if it get rids of the coil whine?
  12. I don't see the point. Why not buy yourself a giftcard. Geez
  13. It's gonna be awhile before I jump for another monitor. Perfectly fine with my PG279Q which I bought for $500 from a friend. A little over than two months old, Microcenter receipt and everything.

BLB isn't as bad as others posted a year ago. Mine was manufactured Sept of 2016.
  15. Dang. I thought the game is good but with these issues, I think I'm gonna hold up on buying a copy.

If I want to, I could just drop it off the Microcenter store it was bought.

  20. 90%+ Isophropyl Alcohol on coffee filter. I think you can use paper towel but watch out for loose fibers. You can use less alcohol % but give it more time to dry.
  21. I thought having an LED logo was bad enough.
