Usually if something don't boot up it points to the power supply. I know you have a 600w power supply. But do you have a lot of other stuff attached to your pc. If that is the case installing your new 980ti can push the power supply to the limit and if your power supply is a few years old they can reduce in power every year. Maybe you need a bigger power supply. 980ti is a powerful card.

I would either do one of two things. One Restore your settings to default on your GPU or slightly downgrade your overclock. Downgrade your overclock slightly and see if the error is still there. You can take the chance with your motherboard and leave your overlock but if I was in your shoes I would not take the chance. Im allways better safe than sorry. Just think for a extra few fps in games your taking a chance with your motherboard and if it breaks alltogether its going to cost a lot more than a few extra fps in game.

Overkill my arse. 1 980ti will struggle to hit 120 fps on a 1080p 120hz monitor with Witcher 3 or GTA 5. That's not including future titles which will be even more demanding. I play at 1080p 120hz and plan on getting 1 or 2 980ti. Just to keep my fps to about 120 on latest and future titles "will still have dips". If you want a SHITTY 60fps then people can say yea its overkill. apart from 4k which is only 60hz most gamers prefer 120 or 144hz nothing is OVERKILL at that speed. Just to point out nothing is ever fully future proof. Even pascal GPU will not be future proof forever. Pascal will take a little longer than 1 year to come out I reckon. If you can wait them fine if you cant then pick the card you like. It will last you a good few years before you need to upgrade again

Im 42 years old and still PC game. Ive been playing games since I was 7 years old on my first computer which was a Commodore Vic 20. I must admit its getting harder to stay up for longer sessions than 20 years back. I can no longer stay up to 3 am in the morning. I usually get tired about 12 or 1 pm. I also finder it ALOT harder to like games like I used to. This is due to playing soo many games over the years. Ive been there and done that saying. My wife don't mind me playing games since PC's is my hobby. If you have a girlfriend or wife which thinks you are too old to game. Then you have two options. Leave her or quit pc gaming. Last note. Yes you can PC game at older ages however things change and you might not be able to PC game more often.

French magazine fined €10,000 for writing about piracy
IceCold007 replied to jos's topic in Tech News
Not very hard to find the best places tbh. Just google it. Anyone with half a brain which wants free content will not find it hard. As for moral side or "should do I this or not side ?" well that depends on the person. Side Note. As long as there is the internet there will be piracy. God I can remember before the internet when I was a kid I used to goto sunday car boots and there where people on stalls selling all sorting of stuff which was copied. The internet has just made it more accessible for the masses. Its also made it harder for the goverments/companies to stop it. And tbh it will not stop no matter how hard they try. -
I like to think there is life out there. But im the kind of person which if I don't see it with my own two eyes well, there is more important things to think about. Im all up for aliens and shit lol good or bad but I don't dwell on it. Chances are I will be dust or bones by the time the world get 100% proof of alien life outside our planet. I just hope my great great great grand children DONT shit themselfs if it happens LOL.

Broadwell i7 5775C Gaming Performance on par with Haswell
IceCold007 replied to MageTank's topic in Tech News
Like ive said on other websites. A general rule when upgrading CPU for gaming benefits only. Upgrade least 2 or 3 generations apart. My i7 4770k will be good enough until skylake or the gen after that. Then again if the rumours are true about skylake the gaming performance for that CPU might be worth a upgrade only time will tell but if its only 3% increase from Broadwell well I can wait -
Still getting 2 980ti when I get enough money. Nearly there I can wait. Still playing 3 year old games atm. And my 670 SLI are doing just fine for them games. As for the benchmarks. 4k. Give me 4k 144hz montors and GPU which can run at 144fps oh dam that's not going to happen for a long time. Oh well I will stick with lower rez for now.

The one thing i've allways learned from hyped products. When it comes down to it, it falls flat on it face and in the end so many people are disappointed.
-
Ok just looked at some other websites Other people with Better CPU's with one 980ti at 1080p playing GTA 5 are reporting they are only hitting 60fps in game. Seems his 60fps is normal for GTA 5. Which sucks tbh because you would expect more than 60fps with a 980ti.
-
Yea but I would expect to see more then 60fps in GTA 5 with his CPU and GPU. Maybe the fact that GTA 5 is CPU bound game. Could be it. He needs to test out a few GPU bound games. If they are hitting well over 60fps then it could be the CPU combined with the GTA5.If hes hitting 58 to 60fps in other games there is something wrong somewhere.

EVGA vs G1 vs ASUS, which is the BEST GTX 980ti brand of these 3?
IceCold007 replied to Khamiri's topic in Graphics Cards
Ive never really like asus since my last asus card blow up inside my pc case many years ago. I allways use gigabyte cards from then on.
