  1. well i did run msi after burner to check temps. they were fine. around high 60s. also i discovered erratic CPU usage when i play cs go or valorant which it dit not happen before i switched GPU
  2. I recently purchased rx 5500xt from an r9 380. I know 5500xt is not the best purchase but it's the cheapest around and cheaper than the 1650 or the 1660. anyways. After DDuing the drivers and installing new one. the FPS on valorant swings from 170 down to single digit which is frustrating to say the least. anyone have an idea what the heck is happening. PS: i did try basic troubleshooting and nothing seems to work as of right now. any advice would be appreciated!
  3. I did some basic troubleshooting such as changing cords, no running software whatso ever. I dont have any RGB crap running. I got only one thing that i sus of. do you think its the psu?
  4. Title says it all. My pc specs: i7 3770 asus h61 mobo 8gb ram 480gb ssd 1tb hdd 2tb hdd 650w power suppy 80+ bronze sapphire r9 380 4gb THanks!
  5. came to their website and it was already taken down. anyone got some spare driver?
  6. Though the problem does not occur when gaming or just browsing in general. Just when streaming youtube like around 10-15 mins straight and the PC just straight out momentarily freezes then Black screens and then repeating sounds from youtube comes in.
  7. I even don't know if the issue is within the CPU, RAM, or memory. The PC justs randomly Green screen without crash dump text, picture, whatsoever just plain good ole green screen and i do not know how to start diagnosing.
  8. what's your budget? if you can shell out some cash get a TR-1920x here are some price list from amd and they just recently cut price. if your living in US, this is some killer deals
  9. As scary as it sounds. THis sounds like Intel IME kind of exploit.
  10. here is the official list of affected by the "bug" it's basically everything The affected CPU list contains:
  11. If heat and Power consumption not a problem. id personally go for 8700k the superior clock and lil bit IPC deficit for ryzen make up for the core deficit but in exchange for upgradability in the near future. but if you can stretch a bit of your cash. id pesonally go for TR4
  12. okay. even intel lies to their constumers. nothin to see here. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  13. Unless you're doing AVX heavy stuff especially AVX 512. where infact, its full bandwidth is only available on 7900x and above then go for intel. If not, Thread Ripper is your best bet and the r7.
  14. you know clock isn't always the answer ok? look at p4. POS silicon.
  15. still within AMD recommended 24/7 voltage of 1.45v though a bit high still better than other r7's
  16. I think AMD made a specific controller for that called HBCC so that you can virtually have a very big memory so you can offload all data set in that storage.
  17. iirc. some Coins do not like high latency memory so HBM is a big nono for miners and plus that high power consumption. I think its safe to say that Vega "for now" can be safe from miners not unless new coin will appear for Vega.
  18. it's around 9/10 they make BS claims. Remember Rx 480 launch? wcc claims 1600+++ on air. its this 1 out of 10 claims that they can be of right course though.
  19. wccf.. hmmmm take that statement with a tanker of salt. wccf is known to be THE source of BS
  20. but that will spell disaster to ryzens power savings advantage against kaby or skl. IRRC, the process ryzen was manufactured was for mobile devices and it also explains why Ryzens hit a voltage wall around 4.1+ Ghz
  21. Thanks, was on work when i submitted post. didn't have the time to revamp things.
  22. Source: https://videocardz.com/newz/intels-12-core-i9-7920x-features-2-9-ghz-base-clock The 799$ 12-core TR have a base clock of 3.5Ghz. Knowing how hot and power hungry i9's are these are Intel's only option to put the temperature under control.
  23. 1700 for around 280~290$ from what ive seen in reddits r/buildapc or r/buildapcsales the most bang for your buck 8c and can oc up to 4 ghz if you're lucky with the chip
  24. the r5 1600 or i7 7700k. the i5 doesn't cut it anymore. basic multitasking suffers if you play AAA games that utilize core. and to be honest I'm not a heavy multi tasker just some chrome tabs, discord, and some programs. the benchmarks you see rarely true in use case scenario because they are clean/fresh windows reinstall. This is why i switched from an i5 to an i7 later down the road. please do not do the same mistake as me. Have a good day
