How the US government shutdown must feel to Federal Workers not getting paid

Good news is that if ANYONE in our government has a respectable brain, the government will reopen by the end of the month.  If they don't, then ALL welfare services shut down in addition to what has already been shut down.  The result of that would more or less be mass chaos.  As it stands, it's Trump's fault for shutting down the government in the first place, but it's the Democrats' fault for not negotiating, ESPECIALLY if they let the welfare services shut down.  How is it not everyone's fault for not negotiating?  Well, technically it is, but the majority, and especially the lower classes, will not see it that way.  In the U.S., most welfare services are closely associated with the Democratic Party, which means that the Democrats would take the blame for letting them shut down.  Whether that is justified or not is sorta up for debate.

TL;DR, if the government doesn't reopen by the end of the month, then EVERYONE loses!

I'm also reading about the hypocrisy of the Democratic Party, or at least Pelosi's stance on the border wall and how her rhetoric can also be taken to an a reasonable extreme to question why the hell she isn't budging either.

I mean, I get it, if they back down, Trump will gloat and spin this as a win against the donkeys (or is it the elephant? I forget). But for fuck's sake, the man's already a wildfire. Don't stand in its path.

The best part is that Trump is ACTUALLY trying to deal with them on issues that were supposedly important for them. He offered them extended non-permanent protections for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients and those with Temporary Protected Status (TPS). The Dems rejected it however because these protections aren't permanent. Essentially they rejected his offer because it's not 100% what they demand and they apparently have 0 desire to make any kind of deal even it's for the people they're supposedly trying to help. They just want everything their way and won't budge until they get it apparently, but yes let's all call this Trump's shutdown...

@imreloadin  Insightful.  Did not know that.  So I guess it's characterized more by the Dems being b*tch-babies than by Trump being "cold" or whatever they wanna pin on him.

I think it's fair to say both sides went full retard.
