zachrwolfe got a reaction from winston in UltraWide Festival 2015
You did a nice job on your video, but logan wasn't just trolling - the limit for entries really is 30 seconds.

I did see it, I enjoyed it. But there's nothing more to add to that concept (and I don't think that video made anyone think "Omg, I can go out and buy awesome PC for $300"). Building a computer for cheap is too easy, and is only entertaining to watch once or twice. The only way to do it is to shrink the budget to something absurd like $50, or add another element - like homemade watercooling or guest stars.

Appreciate the love. I'm not going to do my own show because of the immense effort that goes into the Wan show.
I will however do what I can to be involved in the LTT community and appear on a video from time to time. (if Linus allows me to)
Thanks for watching and I'll always be around if you need another tech perspective.

Trust me this is far from terrible treatment. I always say that the way you can tell somebody's your friend is if you can have fun at each others' expense.
Linus and I have known each other for awhile now. Next time I'll be prepared to jab him back.

zachrwolfe got a reaction from cesrai in Apple's New Developer Program - Combines All Platform SDK's into a $100 Annual Fee, But With Some Side Effects?
Interesting. I knew that iOS and OS X were getting rolled into one, but wasn't aware that Safari was a part of this as well. Doesn't affect me personally as I don't use Safari nor do I develop extensions for it, but I can see this being discouraging for people who just want to make some free extensions. I think one important aspect of it is that the iOS and Mac dev program fees were always pretty justifiable as you could pretty easily get a return on investment in the store. For people who only make Safari extensions, I can't really see this making a whole lot of sense.

zachrwolfe got a reaction from Termiux in My thoughts about vessel
I don't hold the transition against LMG as I am a big fan of their content, and so long as they continue putting out great content I will support them, whether it's on Vessel or YouTube. That said, personally, I dislike the Vessel's UI and I think there's still a lot of work to be done until the user experience for the viewer is on par with YouTube. But I think Vessel is a really good thing, primarily for the competition it will provide for YouTube; perhaps it will even prompt Google to sweeten the pot for creators to get them off of Vessel.
