  1. Out of all of the time I have ever spent on forums, this is the most pointless topic and thread I have ever seen.
  2. It says it is not supported on this card.
  3. How do you check the ASIC score in GPU-Z? I cannot find that option.
  4. Just try replacing the power supply for right now.
  5. After the bios reset, disable C states in the bios.
  6. Try using a different power supply and reset the bios settings (by unplugging the power, holding the power button for 10 seconds, and then removing the little battery on the motherboard. Reinsert it after a couple of minutes)
  7. Oh yea. Mine has started making a vibration sound, though. I don't know if it is just something vibrating or if the GPU fan is going bad. I have also replaced the palm rest on it. Man, that thing runs hot, though. Even after replacing the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU, it can still get up to 76C under stress.
  8. That top laptop might be an Inspiron 8600. I have one of those. Mine has a Geforce FX Go5200 in it. Those laptops are pretty cool.
  9. I don't have experience with their newer desktops, but their older ones were pretty well made. I have three of them still running well (they have had parts replaced but not their motherboards, coolers, and cases)... I am also someone who has upgraded a prebuilt (when i baught the prebuilt, i was not ready to build). Some people may scoff at it but I am glad you have turned it into a good system. Just use it and enjoy it no matter what anyone says. My system does what I need it to do pretty well and is pretty responsive (thank you SSD and quad core)
  10. Yea. I agree that the vacuum is good for certain things like that. Those dusters are so great. I use it to clean my own PCs, friends' PCs, and clients' PCs.
  11. Also, don't apply it to the CPU and the heatsink. Just put it on the CPU. I also do not spread it either. I just put it on and let the pressure from the heat spreader do it for me.
  12. Pea size amount for thermal paste. But it is one of those things where you may get three different answers from three different people. You might want to experiment by putting some on, screwing down the heatsink again, unscrewing it and removing it. Make sure it covers the entire processor (silver part or black part if there is no lid on the CPU). If it doesn't, try adding a tiny bit more and see if that covers it. Don't do this too many times. The pea size should cover it properly. Also, be sure to thoroughly (and I mean very thoroughly) clean the CPU AND heatsink with 91% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Good luck!
  13. I started using canned air because I heard about the static risk of vacuums. I cleaned a system that had been vacuumed out as maintenance previously and the compressed air was able to get rid of more dust out of the PSU, especially. I think it does a more thorough job. I use a Metrovac Datavac electronic duster and I prefer it over canned air any day. It is well built, 5 year motor warranty, and it is like having unlimited compressed air for $50. You also don't have to worry about the liquid in compressed air cans. So, in conclusion, either use a compressor or a Datavac electronic duster as it is more thorough (and may be less of a risk in terms of static, but I am not sure)
