  1. I'm just going to edit this, I disabled the security settings on the router and they all lite up no issue so far. I guess I feel pretty dumb now. Thank you for your help.
  2. I'm kind of at a loss here, I had to get a new modem, which didn't have a built in router, so i had to get a new router as well. I've got them hooked up, I have internet and local access, but my port forwarding isn't working at all. My router is set to be 10.0.0.1, the ports I need open are pointed at my server which is set to 10.0.0.54. This is how I've set it up, but I can't connect to it, and any port checker service says my ports are closed. I don't see any way to set it on the actual modem, I'm just not sure what to do. Anyone have suggestions? Router: TP-Link Archer C6 AC1200 Modem: Arris Surfboard SB6190-RB with Xfinity internet.
  3. Thank you guys, ill look t the cases, i was hoping to avoid 5" hotswap trays just because they arent as convenient and im super lazy
  4. Hi, I've been using an ULTRA Etorque mid size ATX case for several years now. I liked the case, but the cable management options were kind of turd, and now the white case is beginning to yellow. It has a feature that I absolutely adore though, you can plop any sata drive right in to the top of the case in it's built in drive bay. It's like having an external drive caddy, without any of the cable mess or needing a spot for it. I want a new case, but that is absolutely my top feature, can anyone recommend me a new case with an external drive caddy built in to the tower? Newegg actually has this as a filter, but not one of the 40 results if you select it has one. I would need a full or mid size tower, and i wouldn't want to go over $150 USD. If anyone has a suggestion, I would appreciate it, thank you. Picture related, my current tower; It's discontinued years ago, but some sites still have old stock, I definitely don't want to buy another one.
  5. I think you guys are making it harder than it needs to be. https://www.amazon.com/JTD-Auto-programmable-Electrical-Household-Appliances/dp/B013F9JJ72/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1547762167&sr=8-14&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=remote+control+power+plug Feel free to shop around for cheaper or nicer ones, but this will do the trick, I have an older discontinued shittier version of these in a 3 pack, PI, A lamp and a fan. Works great.
  6. I saw a video a little while back saying CSF had a budget but no one interested in projects. LTT has all the resources, tools, and more to build small combat robots, and there are events all over the place for small weight classes. I thought it would be a fun idea for the channel, and it's something that could bring more than one video, build logs, events, updates/upgrades etc, and It would be something where LMG creativity could really be shown off/put to the test. It's not an elite sport where everyone always brings perfect refined high engineered machines, people enter robots as jokes all the time so the entry requirements are low, a remote control and a dream really. Just something I was thinking about sitting on the toilet watching Antweight (1lb) and Beetleweight (3lb) competitions. Anyone else think it would be cool to see an LTT robot? Example of what I'm talking about:
  7. Just an update in case anyone was wondering, but the PCI-Sata card I bought on amazon for a whopping $13; Diewu 6Gbps PCI express PCIE pci-e to 2 Port SATA 3.0 ports Expansion Controller riser post card adapter. Worked flawlessly, didn't even hesitate to detect my drives, and it automatically booted from my boot SSD with no instability. Absolutely awesome. Sata ports on my motherboard remain completely trashed though...
  8. Hit up your hardware store for some tiny nuts, bolts and washers, just make sure they aren't big enough to contact any components or traces
  9. Couldn't help but notice your GPU isn't screwed in, basically putting all that weight on your PCIe slot. Can you try screwing it in and seating it properly so it's not hanging like that? I can't tell on the board, but do you have another PCIe slot you could try? Can't tell in the video, but is your CPU fan also kicking on 100% full tilt non stop?
  10. I'm in a bad position where I believe my sata controller on my motherboard is failing. Sometimes I have to boot it several times to not get a "failed to detect boot drive" or whatever message, and every single one of my drives (2 SSD, 3 HDD) will kick out errors in HDtune, I also have periodic BSOD with a generic storage error message. I've tested the drives on another system at work and not one of them reports errors in the other system. When I'm in the bios, the motherboard has a hardware viewer where you can click components on the motherboard and it will tell you what's plugged in to them. All of them work fine besides the sata port section which will freeze repeatedly for 5 seconds - 1 minute when viewing it. So that's the problem I'm having. I can not afford to replace the motherboard, but I might be able to pick up a lower cost PCI sata adapter. Can anyone give me suggestions on a sub $50 adapter that I could use to run at least 4 drives (preferably 6 drives, and preferably at least 1 Sata III) including a boot drive? Or alternatively can anyone stop me in my tracks and crush my dreams by telling me I can't boot from a PCI sata adapter. I've been looking at some used 1150 motherboards, and everything is either crazy prices matching or exceeding original prices, or extremely sketchy, so I'd take recommendations on where to get some good discount used motherboards as well, but keep in mind, money is a huge issue right now. Details: Motherboard: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition Bios: E7922IMS.A70 (Most recent on wesite) CPU: i7 4790K 4.0ghz no overclock Memory: 4x4gb DDR3 1600 Corsair PC3-12800K PSU: EVGA 750 watt (forgot model, semi modular 80+ bronze) Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 380 Boot Drive: Samsung 250gb SSD 840 EVO Storage: Intel 256gb SSD Pro 5400s 2 4tb Western Digital 5400 rpm HDD WD-WCC4E4EHZUCS 2 2tb Toshiba 7200 rpm HDD (don't have model number on hand) OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 I have no expansion cards outside of my GPU which blocks one other port, so I have 2 PCIe 1, 2 PCI, and 1 PCIe x16 slots are available for a Sata controller, and I live in the USA (Indiana) if that helps someone point me to some not sketchy affordable used hardware. Thank you to anyone willing to read all this even if you can't help or suggest anything, the fact you gave it a shot and made is this far is more than I could ask for.
  11. Just posting in this thread to point out the same thing happens on GTX 960m. This is a screenshot I took of fraps running WITH fraps while running doom in Vulkan. Side note: I am aware doom runs like, and looks like garbage on my laptop. Turning on Vulkan costs me a solid 15-25 frames too, so I can't claim switching to Vulkan isn't doing anything.
  12. I've swapped out all the parts in to other machines and tested pretty much everything. I haven't tried sata cables, I guess I'll try to find some spare ones and see what happens. I'd be so relieved.
  13. Didn't work. 2 Different cases + Out of case tests. Bare minimum windows installs, different mice and keyboard.
  14. I'll do it when I have some time later and report back. I expect unfortunately I know what the results will be. Someone kill me, it hurts to live.
