    Any Evo fans around?
Here's My '04 Evo VIII MR from Sydney, Australia.

Usual bolt on mods (350hp atw), pretty mild but i'd rather be driving it than fixing it due to high horsepower issues... still lots of fun on the street and track.

I'd like to know why a full sized radiator wasn't used. Like from a car or an air conditioner. One could've been picked up for cheap at a scrap yard. And then only one fan would be necessary, plus the parts are designed to be exposed to the elements.

ok i'm new here. i have not checked out all the posts yet so please excuse me if i have missed something.
i am a a heating engineer or 'plumber' of some description if you wish.
i mainly deal with gas boilers & wet central heating systems.
you seem to have had a lot of trouble with at least one leak & venting the system.
yes i know hindsight is 20/20.
but did you consider fitting a 'sealed system'?
no reservoir would need to be installed. just the adition of an expansion vessel, pressure relief valve, auto air vents, full bore butterfly valves on the flow & returns to each pc & a break tank for filling perhaps.
the system could have been presurised with air to test for leakage first.
filling & air removal would be straightforward.
perhaps a temperature fail safe device (or devices) could be installed.
a more elegant solution i am sure could have been arrived at to disperse the produced heat (or captured as the case my be)  i am sure of.

just something to think about in the future.

good luck with the move in the new year.

Everyone knows what the true ultimate small adjustment tool is.

I still don't see why they didn't go with standard schedule 40 pvc pipe. Would have been so much cheaper and easier to work with, no soldering or anything. Just cut, fit, glue fit done.

And since you went with copper, you missed something, possibly the most badass piece of pipe hardware in existence.

Should have had one of these at least somewhere in the system, with some pointless gauges right next to it (temp gauges)

This is a list of problems some people are having some of the time due to their environment or a defective unit. I am not apologizing, but here are some explanations and solutions for each noted issue:This is the nature of 5G WiFi. I have the same issue on multiple devices. Switch to regular wifi, and the problem goes away. Also, a better router helps. Even florescent lights can affect the signal iirc.See (1).Obvious mfg defect. Return it for a replacement.Only for the most demanding titles with uncapped frame rates - doing things no other tablet can. However, if you cap the frame rate, you will see 4-6 hours. See http://www.anandtech.com/show/8329/revisiting-shield-tablet-gaming-ux-and-battery-lifeOnly affects those with certain 3rd party controllers. By all accounts the shield controller works great.See (1)All nice to have, but not defects. Outside of the mushy buttons, I don't think other products provide anything better - and many are certainly worse (for example no OTG at all). NV might improve some of this in the future with mfg changes or software updates. So I guess my point is calm down gang. I'm still buying the 32GB/LTE model over the iPad mini (I originally wrote this for an online comment) for the following reasons:
    1. Mediocre iPad Mini performance VS a tablet that beats in almost all benchmarks (see: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1251?vs=1298)
    2. To cup a hand around the back of the iPad Mini to hear weak, lousy sound for media consumption VS front facing speakers with dual bass resonance ports and broad frequency response?
    3. No stylus system at all VS a highly responsive and accurate stylus input system (some say the best in the market)?
    4. A SoC that throttles to 70% performance after a few minutes VS one that runs for hours with no drop in performance?
    5. No memory expansion options VS an SD card slot where we can triple storage for ~$45?
    6. The iOS walled-garden VS a comparable ecosystem without the same level of lock-in and better key apps (Gmail, Maps, etc)?
    7. And if we want to game, iPad Mini performance, VS a tablet that can perform up to 3x better at peak, or 1.5x while providing better battery life and no throttling at the same time? (See: http://www.anandtech.com/show/8329/revisiting-shield-tablet-gaming-ux-and-battery-life) And do we want Apples OGL ES 3.0 or OGL ES 3.1/OGL 4.4 and CUDA?
    8. Pay $629 for an iPad Mini 32GB/LTE VS $399 for the Shield tablet 32GB/LTE.
People use tablets to watch videos, web browse, communicate, play games, and run productivity applications. The Shield is the better choice in at least 4/5 of those categories. And for most people (those not locked into Apple) it's 5/5.
Objectively the Shield a better general purpose tablet. The reviewer at Anand said he never considered a non-Windows tablet before the Shield. He didn't say that about any iOS device.

Maybe get a second Evo and run them in RAID for more better-ness. I have one if you like. I opened the box to see the contents but I'm not using it.
    How much would shipping be?

Snoood reacted to nicklmg in Mineral Oil PC Kit Giveaway
A few weeks ago we received some VERY sad news - due to a patent troll, our friends at Puget Systems have been forced to cease production and sales on their awesome series of mineral oil PC starter kits (you can read more about what happened here). This hits pretty close to home for our company, as Puget's mineral oil systems piqued Luke's interest a few years ago, which eventually led to him building his own mineral oil system.

First off, we would like to thank Puget Systems for providing this awesome service to the community. As they have mentioned quite a few times in the past, this was a passion project for them more than anything else, and we are sad to see it end this way.

But now that we have the sad news out of the way, there is a pretty sweet silver lining for the Linus Tech Tips community...

Since they cannot sell the kits that they currently have in stock, Puget Systems is GIVING AWAY four of their remaining mineral oil PC kits to four lucky members of this community. There are three Mini ITX kits and one MATX kit available.

Unfortunately, this giveaway is only open to residents of the Continental United States and Canada. We wish we could give everyone in the world the mineral oil PC hook-ups, but it isn't feasible to ship these kits internationally

    How do I enter?
Leave a comment below to enter in the draw. One comment (entry) per user. I have a feeling that Puget will be checking this thread periodically, so feel free to leave some positive words for them - were you inspired by their awesome kits? Did they get you interested in mineral oil PCs? Are there any cool projects you would like to see them take on in the future?

Also, please mention (in your comment) which variation of kit you would prefer if you are chosen as one of the lucky winners. This will NOT have an impact on winner selection, but it will make it easier to assign a kit to each winner.

Entries close December 18 at 4pm PT, so be sure to leave you comment here before that time. The winner will be selected on December 19.

    IMPORTANT NOTE
If you are lucky enough to win one of these kits, you MUST provide us with proof of purchase for mineral oil BEFORE the kit will be shipped to you. These are four of the last kits available from Puget, and they are only going to be given away to community members who are serious about building a mineral oil PC.

    Thanks everyone, and good luck!

EDIT: I've seen some concerns in the thread about getting the mineral oil by December 19. There will be a grace period of one week for winners to provide us with proof of purchase. Just reply and let us know that you will be purchasing the oil when you can, and forward the proper paperwork when it is available.
