Upgrading Teenagers Ryzen 2700 System for christmass
Starelementpoke replied to JBA_usa_gb's topic in New Builds and Planning
Sorry, just realized this was a $500-$600 upgrade for multiple things: 5700X3D: About $130-$140 on Ali with the Black Friday deal and other promos GPU: Can get a 6700XT,3070,2080ti class GPU for roughly $200-$250 used. Check hardware swap Remaining money you could just get a new 32 GB kit and SSD. Still probably ends up bringing you under budget. -

PC Turned on Before I Put in Graphics Card... Now It Won't.

Check what the diagnostic light is flashing you, that orange light is likely it. Should be labeled and give you an idea of what's giving your system pause -

Hardware Swap is a good place to look. Some guy selling a 6650 XT for like $180 shipped atm
-
You can find the 5700x3d off aliexpress for $130 with promo codes. With that budget I'd also suggest poking around the used market since its pretty flush with AM4 and 12th gen parts atm.

Not familiar with the UK's prebuilt market but at least personally I'd be pretty disappointed if this is what I got for 1000. I'd mess around with this config off OCuk. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk-gaming-oxygen-amd-ryzen-5-7500f-geforce-rtx-4060ti-gaming-pc-fs-1bz-og.html?configurator_state_form[slots][415245][sku]=CAS-AER-00983&configurator_state_form[slots][415246][sku]=MY-29M-KS&configurator_state_form[slots][415247][sku]=GRA-ASU-02978&configurator_state_form[slots][415248][sku]=HD-58F-WD&configurator_state_form[slots][415249][sku]=&configurator_state_form[slots][415250][sku]=&configurator_state_form[slots][415241][sku]=&configurator_state_form[_token]=6d3fafb903.qaciNOYr07ijudNLfM_ic5dlnCr99ZB77WzMHvvWrp8.8JJNfbMY4POR05QmTKKWH-4Vz3q1jMZJgTSJLc2u3K_v8kd6rGS965Xr6w&configurator_state_form[groupKey]=

Starelementpoke replied to SigmarErnir's topic in New Builds and Planning
If you dig around the used market some probably. Obviously probably a bit more difficult given your location which I presume is Iceland. AM4 would certainly save a fair bit especially with the cheaper cost of DDR4. Cooler can be cheaper, an Assassin Spirit if you don't plan on OCing or the Peerless Assassin if you want something more. Motherboard as well unless the one you have selected has particular features you need? Do the sims and software need cuda or anything? -
Assuming it wasn't an oem install yeah you should be fine
-
2060 is fine but if you do wanna upgrade I would look towards a used 6900xt or 3080, something around there. Not familiar with Germany's used market but should be within budget along with the CPU with some patience. Grab the 5700x3d off aliexpress, you can get them for about 130 with the right promocodes. If we're looking at strictly new, like a 7700xt ot a 6800
