  1. His monitors are TV's iirc and do look quite bad resolution (for the obvious reason). But he sits far away from them too + where he does programming, it might be nicer to have a lower res. Also looked at this monitor, a lot more expensive than the Samsung one I linked however - I only plan to opt for the 27" because it's not too much price difference. If only, in England we don't have such thing ;-; I may have to scout one out looking at how mixed the opinions in this thread are. I currently use a 19" on the left, and a 24" as my primary - I want to put a new monitor in between those two and a 27" seems like it'd be nice all round for windowed gaming/graphics/etc. If I were to take a screenshot on the 27", would it appear on the 24" as the same size (deeming it no use for graphics for a 24" display)?
  2. Sorry about the stupid question, a friend has informed me that a 27" monitor with 1080 will look terrible as it's just a 24" display stretched and for any higher than 24" - I'll require 1440p. I was under the impression it is per square inch, so there'll be more square inches in the 27" and it'll look just as good. Could anyone help out for me since a 27" would be far better for me, but I don't want a bad looking display. Monitors in question: 24" - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CFFFGUM/ 27" - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00KACJ31A/ Thanks.
  3. Haha, yes - my friend gave me a legal key so I guess I'm out of this one, but nobody can say that Windows is a good price.
  4. I wouldn't put anything Norton have made near my crotch.
  5. Imgur isn't riddled with banners, right click and copy URL and you wont be complaining about this. If you're that picky, get a php script, domain and a host and have your own. He didn't ask for something for screenshots, if he wants something for screenshots - then he should be using prntscrn. Gyazo is the worst and is ridiculously slow and URL's are ugly.
  6. You can't change your IP just for Minecraft. If you just need one temporarily, a VPN is probably the best way to go (recommend cyberghost). If you need it permanently, contact your ISP to get a dynamic IP as Ugion said.
  7. Can someone explain why you'd need an i7? I can stream CS:GO on a 600Ti, 8 RAM and a relatively bad i5 with only small lag spikes. Why not just a decent i5?
  8. TIL people pay for Windows. Windows 8 is better, but it still has a start menu.
  9. This question is going to be more of the stupid, but I'm struggling to make my mind up. This christmas I'm getting a MacBook 2012, I'm upgrading it to some more RAM and an SSD (keeping the HDD, but putting it in the superdrive slot. 750GB between them). I currently have a Kingston SSD v300 250GB in my main computer (http://i.verringer.com/173729.png). I need advice on whether I should get a new SSD for my computer and put my current SSD in the MacBook or if I should not go through all that effort and just get a new SSD for the MacBook and keep my Kingston in my computer aswell as what SSD I should get depending on your answer. I think this makes sense.. Thanks (:
  10. Looking in this thread reminds me how great living at home is.
  11. Are they compressed/resized? They're pretty good for a phone at that price.
  12. CentOS 6.5 for any of my servers, if I used Linux desktop then it'd have to be Ubuntu 14
  13. I can't wait to get this card, so beautiful. http://foxvalleypcgeek.com/forum/uploads/gallery/album_5/gallery_1_5_1516370.jpg this one is just bragging.
  14. Cyberghost is great, I got it for free and am planning to continue my subscription when I can afford it. Beautiful interface, loads of locations, fast and afaik doesn't keep logs.
