  1. You should have gotten a replacement cable from Motorola for the defective cable last year while it was still within warranty.
  2. It power throttles at the 180W stock that 100% power limit supplies it. It's also proven, in the Fury X, that the lower the temperature, the lower the power usage is, and thus, the higher the headroom is for clock speed. All the manufacturers have to do is give it a little extra power, instead of the 180W specified in default bios, say 190W, and cool it better. Of course, giving it an 8 pin and a 6 pin for a total of 300W would aid in overclocking as well.
  3. Well, 1 8 pin delivers the same power as 2 6 pins in newer power supplies; it's a total of 225W including the PCIe connector on the motherboard.
  4. Try to flash gapps through recovery https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
  5. Proprietary isn't necessarily bad.
  6. You don't need the original packaging, you just need to have it packaged properly so that it doesn't experience any damage during shipping.
  7. Most RAM are offered with a lifetime warranty, as is the case for Corsair. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/support/warranty
  8. Drop the 980 for a 1070, use the cash that you saved to get an i7.
  9. Are you overclocking? What is the voltage of the CPU? How are you mounting it? How much thermal paste are you using? What is the ambient temperature?
  10. Yea. You can think of it this way- taking a 5960x and using, say the lga115x small cooler without the fan, to cool it. Even though it's a fast cpu, it won't be able to reach its potential performance and will downclock itself to stay witihin thermal limits, resulting in much lower performance.
  11. Not to be a party pooper, but the X1 in the Shield console is a 20W TDP chip which means it will thermal throttle all the time and also power throttle in a phone where it is usually much lower at up to 4W TDP.
  12. Well. I guess I can equate the last day to upgrade for free as "2012" where after the day passes, it's suddenly peaceful and quiet.
  13. They could target those that have a credit card tied to their Microsoft Accounts and pull the same thing- Click the x in the top right corner and you get charged $100+ for a Windows 10 upgrade. Suffice to say, many people won't be very happy about that.
  14. I have one. Start menu sometimes doesn't work. Pressing windows logo x sometimes yields nothing.
  15. Galaxy S7 running iOS 9 or dual booting Android and iOS9. Edit: Oh and a Galaxy S7 using Apple's A9 because 820 runs too hot and throttles.
  16. Well, the upgrade assistant does verify hardware compatibility before saying your computer is schedule for an upgrade, or at least it did before.
  17. But the thing is generally companies don't want to risk losing their customers in order to make a quick buck. They have every right to make money, but they should not force their customers against their own will.
  18. I also prefer 8.1. However, after having few negative impressions with Windows 10 in the past, after using it for a couple days on my laptop and seeing battery life dramatically improve, I'm ok with it..... on my laptop; It's still staying away from my desktop for good.
  19. No wonder people fall for those scam calls where they pretend to be Microsoft and claim that they detected malware on your computer and offer to "fix" it by actually installing malware......because you can't differentiate one shady company from another.
  20. Maybe Intel doesn't spec their TDP the same way nvidia or AMD does. When manufacturers had thermal problems with the Snapdragon 810, it was all Qualcomm's fault and not the manufacturers, it should be Intel's fault for not properly specifying their thermal outputs of their chips. Or another possibility is Apple overclocking the Core M chips because they aren't fast enough for their standards. But Samsung doesn't ship their phones or tablets down with the correct color profile as the default; you have to manually change it and the majority of the users don't. It also doesn't help that other manufacturers that use older Samsung OLED panels also use oversaturated colors instead of the proper sRGB profile- Huawei 6P, Motorola 6, etc.
  21. Apple please make apple maps available on android. Thanks.
