  1. Alright so this all started today (To my knowledge) my microphone no longer picked up my voice or any sound at all, when I enabled audio playback I heard nothing. If I tap against my mic it would detect that and play that tap (And sometimes wind/blowing if loud enough). I have tried every basic troubleshooting method that every 50,000 search result gave me and nothing has fixed it. Tried reinstalling drivers, updating drivers, a second headset/mic, a non-USB mic, a PC rollback (Which only rolled back like 70% of the stuff as a error happened), tried installed different drivers like my mobo original audio drivers, made sure my settings were all correct, reset my settings to default, sfc /scannow, and tried the headset on another source and it worked so I know the issue lies to my computer and not the headsets/microphones I tested. I am on a fairly fresh Windows 10 set up on a PC that I have had for over 10 years and have swapped/upgraded parts all the time with my specs being: GPU: GTX 960 Strix CPU: AMD 8300FX PSU: 1000 Plat+ Ram: 16GB DDR3 Storage: 250GB SSD, 8TB HHD Main headset: Razer Kraken 7.1 (Also tried Logitech G70? headset with and without USB adapter) Attached to this post is my DxDiag, and All Event Viewer results (Just in case you want them), let me know if you need anymore info as well. Anything to get this fixed as I had to use my phone as a microphone today and that wasn't very fun DxDiag.txt Events.evtx Edit 11/18/2017: While still messing around and trying to figure this out I did figure out something. If I press my mic (Or any mic) against my lips and hum or say something semi-louder then normal it will barely pick it up and I can hear myself with playback enabled. So that means something is forcing my microphone volume to be low regardless of my settings that have it at 100% (And no there is no Boost option for my microphone) I am going to go ahead and reinstall Realtek HD audio drivers and see if I can change that in that manager or not. Fingers crossed Edit 11/19/2017: Did a fresh install on my computer and the issue still persists, so my theory is a update to some driver or application that forces my microphone volume to near 0 and still have no idea what else to try
  2. Tried again today and it worked for no reason on my part. Didn't change anything. But at least it's fixed now
  3. Ha ha yeah, I am planning on getting out of RazerLand just cause of past issues and there prices suck.
  4. Hi! so I have a weird issue that I can't seem to find any help online nor has my own digging found me an explanation. The other day I accidentally spilled some ramen water onto my Razer Blackwidow chroma v2 (Was still under Amazon warranty so getting it replaced with a Corsair keyboard) and at first the RGB was working while I was cleaning off the water but after cleaning I tried to use the keyboard but no buttons worked. So I unplugged it and replugged it back in and now the RGB didn't work and same with the keyboard letters (But the USB port still worked). I assumed it broke from water damage and got it replaced. But my Razer Synapse popped up with an update and when I clicked update after hitting 58% (And on some tries hit only 28%) would freeze my entire computer and I'd have to restart my PC. So I went and removed every ounce of Razer related stuff off my PC and did a fresh install and went through the update process to have it freeze AGAIN. It was quite weird and I checked Event Viewer and other loggers on my PC and none reported any issues nor did anything look out of place on Device Manager or other tabs that I had open. So I am lost to what to do and I can't ignore the problem as with Razer Synapse not working my RGB on my other stuff is now off and my settings were set to default for my headset and my mouse which is not good as I had very custom settings for both of them and now I can't even access there settings to change them. Any ideas? Only things I haven't tried which I am gonna do after this post is do a clean boot and Safe mode. I know one extreme solution might be do a fresh install which would be annoying but I'd do it if I can't find another solution to fix this. Hope someone can give me some ideas and thanks for reading. Screenshots of my Event Viewer for today: https://gyazo.com/d6dba33a080aaf1404e30111371fe912 Update 1: Did a complete uninstall using a 3rd party program and was able to get to 64~% on the install before it froze again (At least it got farther) and I noticed something weird. I was watching a youtube video while it installed and when it froze my audio was still working and I could hear my video playing still through my headset and it played for 6 minutes for cutting out (I assume that is where my internet was stopped too during the freeze so it didn't render the rest of the video) and in Safe Mode I was unable to open Razer Synapse even after a fresh install and everything. So dunno if that is related to the issue or not.
  5. My setup makes me look like a razer fanboy... Razer mamba for my mouse, The Razer DeathStalker Ultimate as my keyboard, Razer Kraken chroma for my headset, and for my mousepad I am just using a corsair mm200 (But before I used the Razer Vespula)
  6. I am currently running a GTX 960 Strix and would really love to upgrade to a RX480 since it destroys my GPU spec wise and would really allow me to use VR on my rig.
  7. I will give that a shot, I dont have any spare RAM at the moment so I will have to see if I can borrow some. Luckily Corsair has lifetime warranty so replacing the RAM wont be a problem. But wont be able to replace the RAM for a few days. Thanks for helping me for so long, once I get some RAM to swap and/or I get my RAM replaced I will post back if that solved the issue or not.
  8. Ah Sorry, Yes it is a XMS3 kit I was just writing down the names off of my order history and it just showed it has XMS. As for drivers I went ahead and installed every win10 available driver and as for the RAM frequency I am have having the same result with freezing after a few hours of use but it seems when I switch the frequency to any of the highest options my PC will sometimes not even boot? It will just hang for awhile and I will have to force restart it. Dunno if thats normal or not and I switched my RAM sticks to the blue slots, didn't know thats what the colors meant but cool I learned something.
  9. Done this before I did a fresh install but did it anyway earlier. Was able to watch videos and such for hours before freezing again. Although the freezing isnt solved I am at least happy that I can watch videos and such longer then 5 minutes.
  10. I had the latest version, I uninstalled it and disabled google chromes adobe flash player. I was able to watch youtube videos for roughly 3 hours before it froze again. Next idea?
  11. I have checked in safemode with networking and I still freeze when a web browser is opened. Also I was able to watch videos on EDGE for about 6+ hours last night with no issue then it froze. So its more "stable" but dislike the browser... And I have also done a clean boot as well with the same results.
  12. On Google chrome, I used a youtube extenstion that allowed settings to be kept for videos/Made the video screen as big as the screen, and used adblock , On Opera I only had the youtube extension, and on EDGE Which I switched too last night (And yes this also still freezes at random when used) I have none on. Just set the refresh rate to high and will keep it opened while I run my PC, And as for security program I use IObit. And yes I did a full clean install deleting all my partitions and blah.
