  1. EK makes kits that you may want to look into since they come with everything you need.
  2. All depends on how the fans interact with your case specifically. Tentatively I would say pull so that the fans aren't between two different restrictive barriers which can hurt performance and it also makes it easier to clean the rad without taking the fans off. But the best test would be to mount them in a push and then try a pull and measure both thermals and see which one is louder. Some fans make more sound in pull vs push or may make a buzzing when the blades pass by the struts of the case and less so when placed up against the radiator.
  3. Honestly it mostly depends on the fans from what I've found. Some fans such as the fractal design hp series make a lot more passing noise when in pull and are quieter in push than in open air whereas some like corsair's sp120 and noctua's p12 either don't really care or sound slightly more pleasant in pull. I would test with the fans that you have but keep in mind that sometimes your placement of the rad can affect other components temperatures.
  4. Let me know how it is because I've been debating getting it.
  5. Did you want us to put a link to pc part picker and spec out the system and are peripherals included or not?
  6. Only thing I can think to change maybe would be instead of the two corsair af120's maybe go with noctua's s12b redux or p12 redux which I have found are pretty much better than corsairs air flow or pressure optimized fans of which I own both. But they're both excellent and if he absolutely wants red and black the corsair fans still stand up very well. Btw the redux cost $13.90.
  7. As always it's on a per chip basis. I believe mine was fine at -150mv even though it was benchmark stable at -175. Like over clocking every chip will be able to run certain clocks at certain voltages so -125 is not a hard and fast rule since some won't be able to get down that far and some will probably be able to do -200mv. What kind of temps and performance did you get though??
  8. Totally forgot the A series had a 140mm variant. That is something I would be interested compared to the P series 140 version as I have heard that there is a significant difference in favor of the A series. Glad you're happy with the end result and Noctua is apparently the way to go. Enjoy your new quieter build
  9. Thank you to everyone who answered! I ended up going with the Acer ultrawide just to see how amazing ultrawide really can be. Feel free to continue the discussion on forward as I found it difficult to find discussion comparing directly high refresh rate 1440p to 100hz ultrawide 1440p.
  10. Yeah the 240hz would pretty much be exclusively useful for csgo but the high refresh rate is tempting like 4k is tempting. You probably don't need it but it sounds cool. I just wonder if the overall experience would be better on a less wide 2.5k display with 44 more hz than having "just" 100hz. i'm leaning towards ultrawide, I just want to know what the overall consensus is on the subject. (Also it should be noted I probably never was but am definitely now not good enough in cs for 240hz to make a difference for me I don't think.)
  11. Oops guess I should update that. Currently I'm sitting with a gtx 1070 ti with both cpu and gpu under a custom loop overclocked.
  12. So I currently use a 22 inch lenovo ips monitor that runs at 1920x1080 at 75 hz. It's a fine display but a tad small and I would like some higher refresh rates for games like csgo and rainbow six and such. With that said I do also play plenty of games like GTA V where ultra high responsiveness are much less of a concern and I have been curious about what ultrawide would look like. Pretty much the monitors that I am taking into consideration right now are the Acer ED347KR 34 inch ultrawide 3440x1440 at 100hz curved va monitor ($400), the Acer XF250Q 24.5 inch 1920x1080 at 240hz with a tn pannel ($289), or the Viotek GN27DB 27 inch 2560x1440 at 144hz with a flat va pannel ($330). So I've tried both 240hz tn monitors and 100hz va curved ultrawides in stores and I love how silky smooth the 240hz monitors are but I also love the aspect ratio of 21:9. I've heard that 240hz is pretty unnecessary of an upgrade from 144hz and I would tend to believe that statement but my god is it ever smooth. I guess what I'm asking is if anyone has experience with ultrawide monitors with 100hz refresh rates and or high refresh rate monitors which one they would go with. (Before anyone says it, I have watched linus's video on the subject and I am mostly interested in the difference between ultrawide at 100hz and more standard resolutions at higher refresh rates. Specifically for ultrawide I don't want 2560x1080 and I am worried with va panels at 144hz that there will still be significant smearing due to pixel response times which I am currently experiencing with my ips display.) 13. Yes you're completely correct. The A series is pretty much the undisputed kings maybe along side corsairs ml series but anywho the A series is better than the P series though the entire problem is that I don't think that they're twice as good since they cost twice as much and are also brown. I'd love to try the a12 and if I had unlimited funds I would get them but I think that the P series is much more practical for normal users.
  14. I wouldn't worry too much about temps since what you have laid out looks to be a pretty good balance already but the p series is really the jack of all trades and it is very quiet so those are good all rounder choices. Idk if it's necessary to block off the basement since honestly the temp difference would be very minimal. As far as negative pressure goes, Linus and Luke did a great video where they used three different configurations and I was surprised and I think you'll be surprised at the results. But as long as you have a gpu with a decent cooler and a decent cpu cooler then you'll be fine temperature wise as long as you have some type of intake and outtake in the case which you do have.
  15. oops my bad. I've definitely seen them at the res you wanted on massdrop. lemme check real quick. My bad its the g27cq. I forgot the q at the end but I probably wouldn't get it if it wasn't on sale. https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Non-Glare-Resolution-Optix-MAG27CQ/dp/B079NGSWRL/ref=sr_1_7?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1544432111&sr=1-7&keywords=1440p%2B144hz&th=1
  16. It's probably too late but OP the reason I don't recommend the nf-f12 for truly restrictive applications is due to the performance testing of thermalbench. I highly recommend looking up fans on their site. They show airflow, noise, airflow to noise ratios, and some other useful insights with a radiator being used as the restrictive medium. https://thermalbench.com/2015/02/04/noctua-nf-f12-industrialppc-2000-pwm-120mm-fan/3/
  17. Good overall balance though if you're going to put a dust filter over the back then don't use the s12 since they don't do well against restriction. Tbh dust entering from the back usually isn't too big a concern especially if you use your computer somewhat regularly. The rear vent measures that way so you can position your fan up or down in accordance to top radiators or for rear radiator support in moving it the same direction. It's nice to have but it can look a little goofy and doesn't work well with rubber mounts. Anywho if you're set on the rear dust vent then I'd probably just use a p12 back there and then call it good.
  18. Quite frankly it probably isn't. The a12x25 might be the most amazing fans ever but they're still $30 a piece whereas the p12 are $14 and from what I've heard is that they are pretty much as good or better than the f12 when it comes down to extremely restricted airflow situations. Ummmm though if the fans you were talking about were the stock case fans then it could be if you would like a quieter build. Just keep in mind that good value doesn't mean bad performance.
  19. Lol you right. Ummmm I believe its like the g27c or something like that.
  20. Yeah my note 4 didn't output them as picture files so I had to move them to my laptop and change the file type to jpeg. Should be fixed now.
  21. Rip but a clean install is never bad. I have to reinstall mine because windows search doesn't work anymore... For some reason
  22. So I was looking into the prices of phone's on Google's Fi when I found this gem. Thought it was a mistype but it appears all the way until checkout. Weird huh?
  23. There are always the dekoni blues which are unbelievably comfortable and use planar drivers which are hard to drive correctly and they're about as sealing as the dt770 would be. With that said I've also heard that you either like their sound signature or you don't and I've never heard them so... Dt770 are like the clouds bigger better brother.
  24. Well if you're able to get over the whole ips thing for va and also be okay with having straight lines appear curved then MSI makes some pretty good 144hz 1440p VA curved displays at 27 inches for around $300 and they also have freesync. But there is a difference between ips and va and I get that but if you want something that's ips with freesync and is also accurate then honestly LG's ultrawide 1440p panels are unbelievably gorgeous but damn they're expensive. Here's a good content creation monitor with everything confirmed except freesync. I am not sure if it has it but it may. https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VP2768-Monitor-Calibration-Photography/dp/B06XYHDFVK/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1544045044&sr=8-18&keywords=1440p+monitor+ips
