  1. It would make sense to keep also the option of using Discord or other chat from the PC. I see the price on the Yamaha (around 325-350€) and trying to find something similar I'm wondering which specs I should look for. In short I want any kind of mixer which allows multiple out tracks from USB. I see, for example 14-in / 4-out on the Zoom LiveTrak L-12 (even more expensive than the rest). But only 2in / 2out in MG12/16/20XU spec sheet. From Souncraft, in addition to their Signature 12 MTK (which has 14-in, 12-out but is also around 350€), I also see their Notepad-12FX which seems to have 2 distinct outputs via USB (with dedicated software) and is around 150€. Or the ZEDi 10FX (should be 4 in / 4 out), which I can find for somewhere around 220€. Finally, StudioLive AR8 USB seems to be the smallest, with 8-in / 4-out. EDIT: Rummaging around I also found the Audient iD14, which has optical input (would simplify PS4 audio). I don't understand whether I'd have separate Mic available with this option though.
  2. I see, thanks for the input. I tried to replica a bit the setup you proposed with some stuff I already have, below ┌──────────────────────┐ ┌────────────┐ ┌────────────────┐ ┌ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ┌────────────────────────┐────▶│1/4" TRS to 3.5mm TRS │──▶│ Headphones │ ┌─────▶│AmazonBasics DAC│───▶ Dual RCA to dual 1/4" TS│───────────▶│ Mixer (Yamaha MG12XU) │ └──────────────────────┘ └────────────┘ │ └────────────────┘ └ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ └────────────────────────┘◀─┐ Optical │ ▲ │ G1 ┌──────────────────────┐ ┌────────┐ │ ┌───────────USB-C Video───────────┐ USB-C Audio │ │ └──│ Male to female XLR │◀────│ AT2020 │ │ │ │ │ │ │ └──────────────────────┘ └────────┘ │ │ ▼ ▼ │ │ ┌────┐ ┌────────────────┐ ┌────────────────────────┐ ┌────────────────┐ │ │ │PS4 │───▶│ Elgato HD60 S+ │──▶│ Samsung TV/Monitor │ │ MacBook Pro 16 │ │ │ └────┘ └────────────────┘ └────────────────────────┘ └────────────────┘ │ │ ▲ │ │ │ └─G1 out──┐ │ │ │ │ │ │ ┌────────────────┐ ┌────────────────────────┐ ┌──────────────────────────┐ │ ─ ─ ─▶│ PS4 Controller │──▶│ Headphone mic splitter │───Audio───▶│3.5mm TRS to dual 1/4" TS │ │ └────────────────┘ └────────────────────────┘ └──────────────────────────┘ │ ▲ │ Mic │ │ │ ┌──────────────────────────────┐ ┌───────────────────────────────────────┐ │ │ Male 3.5mm TRS to female XLR │◀─│ Shure line level to mic level adapter │◀─┘ └──────────────────────────────┘ └───────────────────────────────────────┘ This would be the AmazonBasics DAC > https://www.amazon.it/AmazonBasics-Digital-Optical-Converter-Adapter/dp/B07KSB1MLX/ However, I'd want to send everything mixed to the Mac (I want game audio, chat audio and my voice going to the stream but maybe not to the headphones) and only the mic to the controller (for the chat). So I wouldn't really need an USB separate out, just a Group 1 out separately, right? This should lower the bar a little. I was looking also at the AG06, it seems it does separate USB out, but not separate analog out. Upgrade pick could maybe be a Signature 12 MTK? I've seen it around for 400, which seems a a bit high but a decent price.
  3. Hello, I'm recently starting to stream a bit more, it's exclusively for fun, we like to keep a record of gaming sessions with friends so why not do it live. I mostly game on my PS4 Pro, very rarely on a Windows PC nowadays, but since they're in different rooms I use a MacBook Pro 13 from a few years ago as streaming device. I have an Elgato HD60 S+ which works very well for video capture (I stream in 1080p60) but is very cumbersome for audio. I was recently looking at some way to improve the current setup which is detailed below. ┌───────────┐ ┌────┐ │ │ ┌──────────────┐ │PS4 │──────┬───▶│ HD60 S+ │────HDMI──────▶│ Samsung TV │ └────┘ │ │ │ └──────────────┘ ▲ │ └───────────┘ │ │ ┌────────────────────────┐ │ Chat Link └─────USB-C─────▶│MacBook Pro 13 (soon 16)│ │ └────────────────────────┘ │ │ │ ┌─────────────┐ │ │ │ Headphones │ ├───────────────────Chat Link────▶│ (3.5 TRS) │ │ │ └─────────────┘ ┌───────────┐ │ │ PS4 │ ─▶│Controller │ └───────────┘ The issues here are that volume getting into the HD60 S+ analog input is very very low, I have to crank up gain and the stream has a lot of white noise. In addition I can't use an external mic for both PS4 chat and stream and it's not particularly easy to route music to both chat (occasionally or on cue) and stream for example. I looked at the GoXLR but it is incompatible with MacOS and I wanted to get something similar to the MixAmp Pro TR 4th Gen, but that doesn't have external mic input it seems. Any other alternatives I could be looking at?
  4. I am ok with building it, no issues. The boards are good, however I can't seem to find them for less than 450€, and that would be without chassis, RAM and drives. What about something like an E3-1240L v3 or E3-1220L V2 ? Maybe not those particular chips as I'm having some trouble finding those as well.
  5. I would personally start by scouring the logs, container logs, vm logs, and unraid logs, they usually have useful information to debug.
  6. Hello, I'd like to expand my current set-up, and I'd like to do so with 1 or 2 extra mini-nodes. I currently have one of these: https://www.supermicro.com/products/system/2U/6027/SSG-6027R-E1R12L.cfm which is running 64 gigs of RAM and 2x E5-2560 V2. I added one of these https://noctua.at/en/na-fc1 to lower fan speed/noise. This is the main workhorse. I'm looking for suggestions for a low-power (around 25-30W), relatively silent server. Performance isn't a hard requirement, I'd be aiming for an i3/E3 or similar, but I would like it to have at least 2x 2.5" SSD (preferred over M.2) bays + some 3.5 ones, double ethernet, 16 to 32 gigs of RAM, and some form of remote management. Bonus points if it can be easily wired and mounted on a Rack. Usage would include: Ceph mon / mgr (possibly OSDs), etcd member, few containers for monitoring and logging aggregation. If possible, I'd like to stay around 200€ for chassis (including CPU, rails/hdd bays and accessories, but excluding drives and RAM) but, as you can see from the currency, I live in Europe, where it may be harder to find something like this. For example a https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/system/1U/5019/SYS-5019S-MR.cfm is around 900-1200€ for just the chassis and is a 1U with 22.500 RPM fans. What should I be looking for? Thank you.
  7. I doubt your gaming will be affected by the router of your choice. That being said, some very good routers could be the TP-Link Archer line, the Synology RT2600ac or some Asus picks.
  8. Hello all, I'm looking for WiFi coverage in my house which seems difficult. Current equipment is a mess, here a small diagram, blue lines are top floor, green lines are bottom floor. Because of various laws and the way the house was built I can't run wires outside or inside walls, so wired options would be strictly limited to powerline (which isn't great). Currently WiFi doesn't go more than 2 walls, so I believe the best option would be some kind of mesh, possibly with powerline backhaul or dedicated radio backhaul. I currently have 2 networks SSIDs + 1 guest and I'd like to unify them with this upgrade. I was looking at TP-Link Deco line, Asus AirMesh equipment, something from Ubiquiti (which seems slower and mostly requiring cables), and finally some AmpliFi stuff. Did I miss anything? What would you recommend as the best option for upgrades? P.S. I'm EU based, so some equipment may be prohibitively expensive or very hard to get here.
  9. definitely going to buy my first ever top of the line pc, possibily water cooled. but way too many people to have a realistic chance
  10. ok, that makes me feel a lot better, do you think it's worth it to get the noctua over the 212 evo since I'd like more of a long lasting investment? maybe with 2 fans?
  11. Hi, I'm quite new here, I started this topic because I'm looking for advice for a new cooler, I've been using the stock cooler on an old i7-860 not overclocked, my temperatures aren't great, I usually get 85 to 90 celsius under heavy load, but the real problem is that recently the fan broke, or so I assume, since it's doing a weird noise and temperatures are a lot higher on a much lower load, I get over 70 degrees on idle almost. So I need to change it but I've been reading about the new socket for the next generation of processors (LGA 1151), and I'd really like to get a cooler that will be compatible with the next socket/motherboards. Is there any way to know if for example a 212 EVO or the NH-U12S will be compatible with the new socket? And if I can't know, what do you suggest I get in the meantime, keeping in mind the fact that I'll probably upgrade when a reasonably cheap Skylake processor comes out? Thanks to all those who will reply.
  12. 0 chance for the giveaway, but I finally decided to become a user here, these reviews are awesome as always.
