  1. Alright, so my grandfathers house and my house are on the same property, there is a garage located pretty central between our houses. I know its possible but I need some advice how this would work. I'm thinking of getting our internet connection ran into the garage where I could split the connection between the two of us. From the garage to his house is around 500 feet while its around 200 to mine, so wifi wouldn't be ideal and I would run cat 6 to each house. So how would it work to split the connection so we could each have a wireless access point at our houses. Would we have to put a router in the garage with the ethernet cables ran to extenders? Thanks in advance for any help, i'm a noob when it comes to networking.
  2. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/333861-weird-pc-crash-uh/#entry4529780 LINK TO ORIGINAL TOPIC So, basically i'm still having the same problem, but I decided to record it this time. What happened in this video is after a few hours of using the PC, this happened. My mouse went crazy, audio cut and lagged along with video. Also it acted like I unplugged my headset and started playing audio through my monitor for a few seconds...
  3. Alright, thanks for the help, I guess I will try that and post back later.
  4. Alright, this is quite odd, but just yesterday I wiped my hard drive and installed two fresh operating systems, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 technical preview. So last night I started off with Windows 10, installing drivers, programs, etc, and it was working fine. A few hours into using it something odd happened. Windows just completely went crazy, its hard to explain what happened. So basically all the audio started lagging and almost seemed to go into slow motion every few seconds, if that makes any seance, and my mouse would lag around and stop moving when the lag happened. Basically everything lagged. Thinking it was just a Windows 10 bug, I went over to Windows 8.1, where everything seemed to be a little off, it was running slower then it usually does. About 5 hours into using Windows 8.1, the same damn thing happened. Recently before wiping the hard drive I was also having some odd problems with the PC in general. For example when I would turn it off it would turn straight back on, it would sometimes turn on randomly in the night, and even when it was bumped. I even went through the power supply cables and re plugged them all making sure there was no loose connections. I feel that either my motherboard is shot or my PC is haunted. Any thoughts? I can't find anything on the internet like it, I wish I recorded it the second time.
  5. Linus cheating? Who would ever suspect such a thing?! #TeamLinus
  6. So i'm going to be building a good friend of mine his first gaming pc, hows it look? His Budget is around $500 USD, If he is willing to pay more I will throw on a 212 EVO. He will be doing moderate to light gaming. Gmod, Fallout, Skyrim, etc. Case: Cooler Master N200, $39 Motherboard: ASRock Z97M Anniversary, $89 CPU: Intel Pentium G3258, $69 (Planning on running this on stock cooler, not going to be doing crazy overclocking)! Maybe around 3.7 GHz Ram: G. Skills Ripjaws 8gb x 1 1600 MHz, $59 GPU: EVGA Gtx 750ti 2GB, $139 PSU: EVGA 500 Watt 80 plus, not the 80 plus bronze, $39 Storage: 1TB WD Blue, $59 Wifi: Yes he needs wifi, TP-Link WN822N, $19 As a PC warming gift i'm giving him an old keyboard and mouse and he already owns a monitor. Total of around $510 Any suggestions on changing anything or does it look pretty good? Thought it would be a good idea to get a second opinion before he spends $500. Thanks
  7. I will do, have been running HWmonitor when gaming checking it every 5 mins or so and it is not running hot
  8. Doesn't seem to be overheating, about 62 to 70 C in game, and i'm running it at default clock speeds

  10. Hey guys, I have been having a problem with my computer, i'm amusing this is a problem with my graphics card. This is what happened. - After a few hours of gaming pc completely shut off - Pc wouldn't start, pressing the power button would do nothing - Pulled out gpu, pc fired right up - Let it sit for a bit, threw the gpu back in - Computer started right up like nothing was wrong - Continued to game - After a while of gaming, screen goes black, gpu fans ramp up to 100% Could this be a problem with my power supply? I have an Evga Gtx 770 superclocked with the ACX cooler and a Corsair RM 750 watt psu. I never have pushed the graphics card to hard like by coin mining and it seems to stay at reasonable temp's. Anyone have any ideas of what's going on?
  11. I would go with a solid 500 watt PSU. The power supply is something you don't want to cheep out on so stay away from generic ones. With 500 watts you will have room to upgrade to a decent GPU.
