  1. I play with 3D vision, and more graphics power = better fps/higher settings when gaming in 3D. As you know in 3D you render the frames twice which overall requires more graphics power. Id rather have SLI 680 then 1 to have a smooth gameplay. Even in 2d, its still pretty nice because your monitor is a 120hz screen resulting in more fluid gaming experience. If I didn't game in 3D well, I woulda done what every1 else here has done and gone for an AMD card.
  2. lol, I'm in the same boat as Kaneandtaker. But like Nishank93 said, SLI 680's will not likely fall behind in performance for a while on a 1080p rig. I find that if you afford it now, why not (which is why I bought them). And rumors are hard to trust sometimes because lets say they don't come out next month....and Q4 instead. You pretty much waited a month for a "rumored" launch when you could of had your graphics solution fixed. And nothing sucks more if your saving up your money and something happens or an impulse buy leads to consuming your saved cash for your graphics card lol.

  4. Thats a no brainer, 5000$. As much as I enjoy watching their videos, me meeting them will amount to a bunch of greetings and some small talk + some awkward moments. Id also be wasting their time, thus resulting in a slower video content.

  6. Common now, asking whats my fav. anime is totally unfair. I enjoyed a lot of animes so I can't say I have one fav, But for the ones the left the biggest impact on me was DBZ/Outlaw star/FMA (in that order). IceSanity - DBZ lately I've been reading more manga than watching anime at all.

  10. Only reason i bought my SLI 680 over the red team is for 3D gaming. If your interested in 3D gaming in general then go for the 680 if not, every1 else in this forum pretty summed up what I would suggest too.

Yeeahh OC isn't in my general field of knowledge (at least to what your problems are) I tend to just go for stable high freq that aren't taxing/bottle necking my gpu's. If you need help on anything i'll try my best. Best of luck.
  12. For games, I personally don't download games because im too lazy to go through the hunt to find the game and download it (unless some1 does it for me). Liam mentioned you can just wait til a sale. Music...streams make it worthless to buy but I do buy albums of my fav. artists (just to support them). Software...yahh thats all pirated (who hasnt pirated office). Personally the reason I find myself buying less and less games is because I have no way of trying out the game (trail or a good quality demo) to encourage me or let me see if its a game I will play/enjoy. I'm sure a lot of other gamers will opt to download it, see if they like it, and then buy it (under the assumption your an adult thats working, kids will pirate like no tmr because their broke) Somethings are overpriced which lead to people pirating it, which lead to overpricing it, and thus the cycle cont. (someone going to have to pay for loss of money due to piracy and thats the person buying it). Thats just my thoughts about Piracy.
  13. It is disrespectful, no doubt about it. I hate it just as much as you do.
  14. You know, its not his fault imo, I blame Nvidia and AMD for that 1 tbh. They Market the hell outta memory and all that jazz and never mention 1 bit about what really divides graphics cards apart.
  15. I totally agree with you on the RAM one. "But my computer has 6gb of Ram"
  16. I don't know much about editing power from the gpu side. but Didn't Linus say that Cuda for editing was really good (or rather diesel told him that it was really good. that might be the reason his sticking with Nvidia rather than AMD). Only get a 680 if he really willing to blow all his budget he set on a card. 670 is a great card. And I personally like the Twin Frozr design (thats just me tho) Because his doing editing, I highly suggest you do some research on how Cuda or the AMD equiv. does in the programs his using. Once you get that research done, you'll be able to better determine whats better for his programs and choose depending on how value ordinate he is. All the cards he will buy will handle games easily, so no problem there.
  17. Be careful about those "oh this card OC can outperform said card" people forget to notice that said card is not overclocked..and it sure as hell can overclock. so non comparable information can be misleading. Your not saving ~150$ because that said card can overclock which would null your "savings". You would of most likely overclocked that same card if you had gotten it. Please compare apples to apples.

Oh there always things to buy to upgrade my current Wiz. lol. I'll put it to good use.

I would love the gold to be honest. PM me please lol
  20. ...Man I would never let my packages be left outside like that. The problem here is that they are tagging a whole company to a single human being, yah sure he works there, but his still human and thats some Tempting box left wide open for the taking. Ethics doesn't always translate well between human to the next human, and there multiply humans in one business. That person chose convenience, and with that, must accept the risk of theft from another human being.
  21. Scooter, you have to understand that youngsters who work are not paying for any bills. They still probly in middle school or highschool therefore its still the parents responsibility to shelter the child until 18. Once you understand that every $ they earn goes straight into a piggy bank and hardly none of it goes out until they can afford the expansive computer. Now thats a lot different than you. Your probly working, have a wife, paying rent, paying bills, and all that jazz. So in the end of the day you can't save that much as these children who are working but not spending (or spending on only tech. gear)
  22. Hahahah, I'm buying an Overkill PC and I know its overkill... Things like SLI-titans or 680 SLI i consider overkill. Above 8ram is overkill too. Anything is overkill depending on how you use it. If you game once in a blue moon, well anything is overkill. And If your alright playing in Medium to High settings, than no need to buy a crazy priced computer when you are already okay with those kind of settings.
  23. I'd say get the 660 ti. There might be a slight trade off like some of the other posts have mentioned (depending on the games). From my understanding, your thinking of just really investing into the Nvidia eco-system. Its truly why I buy nvidia cards (I game using nvidia 3d vision, and now that shield is coming out, even more of a reason to keep with the eco-system). Options vs no option (thats the price your really paying)
  24. Wow...I'm currently trying to buy a new gaming rig but with this...so much money to save so I can throw money @ SLI Titans? Thanks Intel (I only use Intel...love them) and Gigabyte for the motherboard! Since I know nothing about motherboards, ill trust Linus. Thanks for the giveaway Linus.
  25. I don't believe that it would matter for video ram. What is the Resolution of that 50Inch screen? and are you gaming on that 50 inch screen? All these questions somewhat matter. If your just using your 50" screen for normal pc use. well that wouldn't make a difference at all. If the 50" screen is only a 1080p resolution, than it won't make a difference no matter HOW big the screen is compared to a 24" screen with the same resolution. Not only that, it will also matter what games your playing too. High Res textures games/options will be the only thing related to the v-ram that would impact it. but 2gb is good enough for a 1080p resolution. The only things I can personally think of that the v-ram would currently matter are if your running 3D (maybe), 3monitors surround set up, Modding a video game. or running a beast single monitor resolution on a game with crazy high res. textures. And ofc, Futureproofing yourself. Hope what my limited knowledge of this helps you. I'm currently trying to figure out the same question but SLI 680 for a 1080p MMO gaming high res. texture. but a lot of support is going for 2gb is good enough. (with an option of 3d too) Agh so much learning to do to pick the right graphic card for yourself hahaha.
