I haven't had a television for getting on 10 years now, so Netflix provides a convenient way to watch what I want to watch without the cancer that is advertisement. Plus with a VPN you can access so much content from other countries that the sheer idea of having a television seems even more redundant to me than it already did. I still torrent for the latest TV/Movies, and unless Netflix or a similar addfree service can provide that convenience to watch the latest content from the likes of HBO, I can't see me changing my habits. I feel like Netflix are on the right track, but it's about shifting the mentality of the boardroom fat-cats who care only about one thing, and making them realise that consumers don't want to be locked into a pattern of weekly recurring episodic content, they want high-quality content that's convenient to them. The entertainment industry is shifting but the fossilized CEO's don't want to change for the future, they'd rather leave it for the next generation to deal with (kinda systematic to society as a whole at the moment).

Oddly enough I currently pay for a 200Mb connection. These results would suggest that I'm getting double that? Also noticed that during the test when the percentage was moving clockwsise I was getting 20Mbps but anti-clockwise it was giving me 39Mbps.

Let me get this strait... you're comparing murder with sex? Do you not see how insane that is? I honestly find it incredible that all forms of media still frown upon sex, but murder, senseless or otherwise, is perfectly acceptable. Personally, I couldn't care less about either within gaming as long as it has a purpose.

I'm currently using the Asus MG279Q monitor, so when Fiji hits the market I'll be grabbing one straight away. 4GB of VRAM should be fine for 1440p regardless.

290X is already more viable in Witcher 3 than the 780Ti. Not really sure what your point is regarding Fiji.

I have this monitor, and the issue is clear as day for me at 144hz. It's a shame really, as the monitor is a really nice piece of hardware. I have it set to 120Hz now and it's perfect minus some slight bleed in the bottom right hand corner. The retailer I bought it from offered a full refund naturally, but I'm still uncertain as to whether I want to return it or not. Like I say, at 120Hz it's perfect, but I paid for 144Hz. Even though the difference is negligible I still paid a premium for certain specifications that I'm currently not getting. Torn.

On a plus side my 280X has no problem driving 1440p. Playing GTA 5 at high settings 0xMSAA and getting a solid 60 FPS.

Unfortunately not as it's a re-branded 7970. I'm planning on purchasing a 390X though which should hopefully synergies really well with the monitor.

So I received my Asus MG279Q monitor today, and so far I am incredibly happy with it. I thought I'd open this thread in case anybody is considering this monitor and have questions they'd like answering. EDIT: Just to clarify I'm currently using an R9280X so I can't test FreeSync at the moment.

I can pick it up in the Netherlands for around 620 euros. Can see it at around 500 USD because fuck exchange rates .

The Asus MG279Q was just released. Not sure about others.
