    I would get the 880's or 990's for your situation. DT 990's are more fun sounding, 880's are more neutral.

      Ooh. Exciting. I was recently looking in to purchasing the K712 Pro's(this is an unrelated subject), but everything I hear about the V1's you guy's make of the T50RP's are just.. praise, endless praise, so I think I may go with them instead. I'm curious - can you guys pre-add the padding on the top and the ear-pads of the V3's to the V1's in house before shipping them out? :o

    You can't really drive headphones off of an ODAC. You need an amp running in tandom with it. Have you tried plugging the headphones directly in the motherboard?

    That's completely backwards. The amp has a much bigger impact than the DAC. Contrary to what people think/marketing.

    Yeah I love my DT 990's. Maybe try picking up some AKG K612 pro's while you are at it. Both will be cheaper than the 400i's.

    Used pair of DT 770 80 ohms.

    Balanced cables don't do anything. My time with t1s wasn't great. Very flat and boring. I like my 770/880/990 much better. The 400i looks very promising, I would go with them.
