PC will NOT boot when graphics card is plugged in
HowToGaming replied to HowToGaming's topic in Troubleshooting
Sorted it out now, turns out the card was dead as well -
For the last 9 months or so, I have been gaming with my GTX 770 from EVGA. Recently, I moved my desk around a bit and suddenly by PC doesn't work. I experimented a bit, initially assuming that the power supply had broken, but then discovered that whenever I disable the power from the GFX card, the PC boots fine? I called up Amazon and they said that I can get a free upgrade to a GTX 970, and I think I'm gonna go through with this. I am currently using my old GTX 560 ti is my computer and it runs FINE, so It was that card specifically. Does anyone have a similar issue/Know what's going on here? I assume it's either because the card has broke or because the power supply can't give enough power to the card, but any help would be appreciated. NOTE: Whilst moving my PC around, there was no physical damage done to the PC or card, so I doubt that is the case. Let's just assume it was a coincidence that it stopped working the day I move stuff around.

I've had cat vomit on my mousepad and it's still doing the job, it's just too small for me -

I have a Razer Deathadder and my current mouspad (Razer Goaliathus Control) is too small. I am looking in to buying a new one. I am hearing good things about the SteelSeries QCK Mousepad, but i'm not sure Suggestions would be greatly appreaciated, thanks in advance.

Is it just me or... (CS:GO Ranking Discussion)
HowToGaming replied to HowToGaming's topic in PC Gaming
I keep telling my friends that if they devote their time and effort into improving, then they will eventually rank up. Simply playing the game can improve you slightly, but the real deal that ranks you up is in the hours of practice that the higher ranked players put into the game. -
Hi all, I don't know if it's just me, but it seems that everywhere I go, I see people complaining about how difficult it is to get out of silver?! Don't get me wrong, I have never been a Silver 1, so I wouldn't know (Not that I am that good of a player, I am currently Nova 3, my highest rank being MG2) But I have a question to ask anyone who knows. How DOES the ranking system actually work? I hear my friends complain about hey they have 10+ wins in a row and 30+ wins in total, and can't get out of Silver 1?! I think that it is not about how many games you win, it's about how consistently good you are and not about how often you win a match. Do not quote me on that, I have no idea, but I helped my friend get out of Silver 1 in 3 games. Maybe it is actually stupidly difficult to get out of Silver, but from MY past experience, most of the people who moan about how hard it is to get out of Silver 1 are actually not all that good. But hey, who am I to talk, I've never been below SEM, but I would like to hear your thoughts on the subject, and if you are a Silver 1 yourself, is it truly a challenge to get out of silver? I don't want to start a war here, but I find it easy to get out of Silver (From boosting my friends), that might not be the case for you, but it is for me. Please share your stories and opinions here

The current technical preview on Windows 10 does not have the features described. More news on what Windows 10 has to offer is coming in January
-
Looks like Microsoft are going to unveil a set of new features that are apparently going to be vital for gamers This is pretty exciting, but turns out that the guy hosting it is Phil Spencer, who usually focuses on xbox, said he is going to focus on PC gamers more, because they are "Critical for success". Could they be releasing DirectX12? Could they be making xbone games playable for Windows 10? We'll have to find out in January, but It better be as good as they are making it out to be, I feel there is a gap in the PC Gaming Industry and I hope they are going to be the ones to fill it up. "DLC only avalible on PC" "Coming first to PC" <--- I don't want this to happen, since they claim they will concentrate on PC, don't take it too far Microsoft! "Get bonus content on PC"
