so i was playing with a port forward rule trying to get an IP camera working then all of a sudden no response "192.168.1.1 took to long to respond" still didn't com back after being shut off for about 20 mins while being blown out with a normal air compressor not can of air seems im not the only one with the problem but the forums i looked at were form 2011 >.<. i have the latest version if pfsense been up constantly for 20 days straight with no problems logged onto the web GUI like evry day worked fine and now lol nope, and yes i tried using other computers and other browsers still dosent work

i have an Asus 750ti 2gb and an i7 920 used to be 6gb of ram but finaly got a ripjaws 16gb kit it'd be nice to have a newer gpu I dont care if its green or red but id like more than 2gb of vram so i can get a 1080p monitor and im also thinking about trying to get geting a vive i know a little 750ti cant run vr.

and i thought my pfsense router was the "GOOD" router just dont have wireless cards in it though i may try that.

what i would like is some recomendations on what network switch i should get obveously un managed i have no clue how to set up maneged ones but i need atleast 8 ports and i dont want to get an old one just like the one i have that doesnt help at all like i did trying to get a new modem it turns out the odem i tryed was the first motoola surfboard made and we couldnt use it just wastes 50 bucks on that i cant find any network switch reveiw so thats why im asking im suck of screwing up research and bu the way the routers that are chained after the pfsens one are really just WAPs but because neworkswitch lacks ports i had to chain them together.

i would like to know wtf hapend to either comcats and or neflix, be fore quite awhile ago we had netflix and comcats for along time and be ant my brother could play games no problem while my parents were on netflix now only me on TERA (game uses verylittle bandwidth but relies on good connection) and my parents on netflix im laggin like a bitch nothing changed if aything my internet should be better and thers not so much and my parents blame the pfsense router i think its the crapy 10 year old 4 port switch i use (only what i had laying around no mony for new stuff) and cables but no they keep saying my routers shit and its pissing me off im constantly monitoring the network usage on the router and its like a constant 5 mbs /s even though it doesnt sound like much it lags me out and kills me alot in game like i get freezes all the time and now (at time of posting ) i had to quit the game because of this and thers also spike of over 20mbss/s all the time and im looking at glasswire and its not me i just want to know what the hell hapend is comcast throtling what were paing for and by the way as far as i know out internet plan never changed and or did netflix say fuq you and up the bandwidth and the other therioy i had was is it becous my parents are using the builting to tv app for netflix because when i use the browser veroin its just little spikes of data not constant 5mbs + sorry fro strong word im just really pissed right now and the set up goes Modem> pfsense>4port crapy old netgear unmanaged switch>a netgear router for upstairs wifi>and from that dasy chaines to the router my parents use (downstairs wifi) witch is a lynsys routermy main computers pluged into the switch but yet when i connect to the 5ghz band on the downstairs router my speed is higher and ping lwer acording to speed test and yes i testsed on the same server why its goingthough wifi and 2 routers into the main router faster than right into the main one?!?! and i guess i just need help convincing my parents to get new cables and a new switch i tryed by showing them a video why hardware and cables matter at first they were like ok well try that and now ther like no its all comcast witch ther mostly right comcast is doing somthing fishy im sure but that doesnt mean new cables and a new switch wont help and sorry for bad grammer and spelling im a bad typer

im pretty sure I bought it new im not sure when it started rattleing but i looked at auslogics diskdefrag and it says the disk is healthy i have been useing it for a while because it was an early b day gift. and i did reinstall win 7 once but before that it still did it and i know its the read head it goes nuts when the systems starting but when idle it doesn't do much and thanks for all the replies :3

i got a new hard drive for my desktop for my birthday and its a seagate 7200 rpm 750 gb drive in the eaby listing i beleive it was an enterprise drive and the rattle noise coming from the read head driving me nuts im worried some bearing might be bad but the drive seems to work fine i had one BSOD but i think that was because of downloading warframe and tera and watching you tube at the same time with only 6gb of ram i was thinking it might be meant to rattle a bit because its an enterprise drive bit i dont think i should be able to here it over a server and even games. im just wondering if this is normal for a barracuda drive none of the other seagates i had rattled like this

ok so i gave up on the mulitpul lan for now because i had to reinstall pfsense again but i got my vpn and mc servers fixed so imma not screw with it anymore

well tryed and my router was fubar i had to reinstall it again to get internet access back and it froze when tryed to set factory defaults thats why i had to reinstall again i had to reinstall last time i tried this too

ok no i cant aford a $20 switch and i need one with at least 8 ports and the curent set up is with my 4 port NIC port 1 is wan from moden and port 2 is the port going to the switch what i want to do is use the other 2 ports as if they were on the switch. the switch i have now is a 4 port and its really old

i need multiple lad because i cant aford a new switch right now and the on i have only has 4 ports and i have alot more than 3 wired connections and itd be nice to use the other 2 ports on the NIC

omg i know but i want to have it at least set up so i can use it if its slow ill just put my parents ap on it they wont notice the difference they dont play games like me and my brother do
