  1. The RAM normally is running at XMP 3000 turned it down to try maybe oc of anything made something unstable. Will try that dual cable solution because im pretty sure im using one cable for that to save space behind the mobo tray xD. The temps are definitely under control not even going over 70 degrees due to the size of that thing :D. This error also occurs sometimes even when loading to windows so its definitely broken somewhere... Unfortunately getting an EVGA card in my country is rather hard and ridicoulously expensive even compared to the strix.(1000USD vs 1200USD I know these prices are ridicoulous) But not gonna lie I'd love some of that legendary RMA policy because personally back in the day I had a 9800GTX sent it for warranty and got a gtx270 back
  2. Hello everyone! I very recently bought and Asus Strix RTX2080 to replace my aging 980Ti. Everything was fine for a couple of days until very recently like 3-4days ago the card started behaving very weirdly. The problem is you do everything on ur pc normally play a game with ur friends on discord and suddenly the gpu turns its fans to eleven and the screens go dark (whats funny is that everything works just fine I don't even lose connection to discord and can still talk to my friends). I went back to Win10 1803, reset my mobo to defaults thinking maybe it was a cpu overclocking related (btw 4.5 at 1.16 and 4.7 can't run even at 1.266 go figure). Now I'm writing here maybe you guys have an idea that doesn't involve me getting the GPU RMA'd and basically not having my overpriced lovely rtx on in one game gpu not in my PC for god knows how long and having my PC be a lovely RGB unicorn statue for the forseeable future. Any ideas are welcome and I'll happily try them BTW Specs are as follow i7 7820X @ stock 32GB GSkill TridentZ @2133 Asus X299 TUF Mark I Asus RTX 2080 Strix Gaming Corsair HX850i A ton of rgb madness and two samsung ssds.
  3. Probably it's goin to work like the crew or they'll just be drivatars like in horizon 3. Don't really think that it'll affect anything.
  4. Honestly get a single drive no matter which one tbh. That raid 0 perf looks pretty bad
  5. Yiissssss RGB everything! Guaranteeed +25fps in everything and looks so good it will make everyone think you're the next Picasso. But for real I'd honestly switch the GPU for something new (gl with finding one in a reasonable price tho) and probably the psu tbh.
  6. That's a great idea. Making PCs with 2x980Tis and 1080s with a 1TB of RAM hardly seems like scrapyard wars to me tbh.
  7. Don't you have a dedicated pump connector on the motherboard designed only to have a 4pin PWM pump cable connected to it so that everything can be configured thoruh UEFI? You probably can connect it to that and set using some software or even in BIOS to react to the GPU temp but honestly if you set that pump to the lowest rpm with a liquid cooling loop like that the GPU temps will be very low either way so I wouldn't even bother with that.
  8. Listening to this makes me feel sad for you and the way you get ripped off by your ISPs
  9. From what I know you can't mix cooper and aluminium wc stuff. Acetal+nickel is a cooper block just with nickel plating to make it shiny and acetal is the material the top of the block is made of which is basically plastic. So you should be fine
  10. Replacing a CPU is an easy thing especially on x299 because the backplate is mounted to the mobo so there's no need to remove the mobo from the case. Also if you'll stick to that 7820X I don't think it makes sense to go for that 6xSSD raid thing
  11. I'd cancel that CPU and get at least a 7900X if you are serious about that NVMe raid. 7820X has only 28 lanes (fine by me as I don't plan any nvme madness ) and when you want to use that many SSDs you will use 24 lanes of that 28 available and let's not forget that gpu
  12. If you have the 7740X (I assume you have this one based on your profile) You have only 16 CPU lanes (compared to 44 lanes on the i9s) So it's basically impossible to get any kind of SSD raid with adequate performance on this cpu (1GPU will eat every single lane this questionable x299 cpu has to offer).
  13. Then 120Hz. Bigger difference than GSync imo
  14. 2 things : 144Hz all the way. It's just soooooo smooth, and the second one when in a year or so a game so power hungry will be released you can always drop to 1440p 60 and keep ultra settings
  15. From what I know the approx size quoted by HDD manufacturers is 1024KB to 1000KB so I think you have the numbers in columns wrong. And that's also why when you buy a 2TB HDD for example you get 1,84TB even before formatting it.
  16. I like it but it would be better if it was able do fit like an Matx board for SLI (when u have this much rad surface why not go overkill). Imagine a 7960X dual 1080ti presented like that with minimal noise at full power.
  17. Personally use a PG278Q as my main monitor and some cheap 1080p 24 inch as a second monitor. Personally I don't really have any issues with them being different resolution and size but obviously any surround config is not going to work (I use my 27 inch for gaming and the 24 inch for other stuff like TS management music and stuff.). So I'd say go for a 1440p144 IPS Gsync monitor and keep one (I'd keep both because I like screens :D) and buy some kind of an arm to free some desk space.
  18. From what I know there is a USB version of that microphone. I'd look at that just to have less stuff needed for a mic to work unless you need that interface for more things.
  19. It will work just at the max speed possible which in this case will be around that 1.25GB/s mark.
  20. If the port is rated at PCIE 2.0 x2 speeds then the port would max out at around 1GB/s (if I did my calculation wrong please correct me). So you could just buy a cheaper nvme SSD like an intel 600P and the bottleneck should be less noticeable. I definitely not recommend you sticking in something like a 960 evo inside of that port.
  21. I know I only installed the second Windows 10 in hope that It will detect the first (main install) and then getting rid of it as soon as it fixes my booting process
  22. Hi everyone! As the title says my windows 10 install has gone missing after I decided to put the harddrive from one PC to another. Was aware of the fact that the hard drive wont be detected right away so I installed another windows install on another partition (making sure the first windows is ok) but the onlu effect I have is the ability to boot to the version of windows I had installed on the new PC. Is there any way I can get this install to be detected or is it a lost cause? Any help is welcome and thanks in advance! P.S Have access to everything the HDD is working fine the PC is fine just not able to boot that other windows 10
  23. Well then If you are sure it will work then go ahead and get the 960evo or if you want a bit more power the 960 pro
  24. I think you may not be able to boost NVMe drivers on anything older than Z97/X99 PCs. You'd have to get a regular SSD or somehow modify your BIOS to support NVMe (know it's possible to do on X79 not sure about X58). And IMO a really good NVMe SSD is 960 pro or a 960 evo. Have the 960 pro personally and I am very pleased about it.
