  1. I would like a wan show, it is after a week.
  2. Sometime there is an incident, people need to pick themselves up. Healing from the emotional impact of what has happened, and the changes they want to make is longer than expected.
  3. Maybe you can tell us what their humour should be. They are milennials btw...
  4. This has been a weird couple of days. A lot of activitist newbie accounts picking fights and indirect posts. LMG staff are a bit immature, this isn't fake, majority of them are your typical internet dwelling tech nerd who use to frequent reddit/fourchan etc.... The problem with these activists posts, they are either disingenious, their brand of humour is almost unchanged in 10 years, you cant be noticing it now. Or they are overreaching, trying to link toilet humour to a culture of sexual harrassment, like wtf. Do you have any idea how hard it would be to cover up a culture of sexual harassment in a company of 100+ staff? It is a media company, female staff will leave and explode the internet.
  5. This is absolutely correct. She went on a public forum and state LMG didnt take sexual harrassment seriously and didnt follow employee safeguarding. This is for lawyers.
  6. Thing is, you joined yesterday, so your words ring hollow and false.
  7. Leeching? What? She had 7 social posts a day and 2 floatplane exclusives to do(Not exactly difficult). She left for mental health reasons. Why exactly is that bad?
  8. Now that LMG has taken action. Can all the trolls, immature kids and fake fans/community members take their hate and toxicity out of our forum. You dont have to leave, just move forward.
  9. So QC4.0 is alot cheaper to implement so it is common place, makes sense.
  10. If what you say is true about your experience then you have either never managed at scale or bias may be clouding your judgement. When managing multiple people with numerous activities throughout the day, you cannot check in on every task, you have your own work to get on with. Moreover, you need an environment of trust.
  11. Hi All, Right now QC 4.0 is what is the lowest charge implemented in qualcomm phones; 27W+ charging. This standard came out in 2017, and was superseeded in 2020 by QC5.0 in 2020, why isnt it the standard in phones?
  12. Your comment is based on flawed logic, because in both cases the pizza guy and the LMG business team have a long track record of performance.
  13. You sound like someone who has never delegated authority before. You can't micromanage people, you need to trust that they can do their job. To put simply, let say it is a restuarant, you are a restaurant manager, the pizza guy accidentally put shell fish on a pizza and gives it to someone with allergies. Who is at fault? The pizza guy but the company has accountability.
  14. Linus =/= Linus Media Group. This is a distinction that Steve made, however alot of the new "activists" accounts can't seem to reconcile with. Linus is the frontman, but the other 100+ arent exactly involved in this. Peoples behaviour in this debacle highlights their age, business understanding, and maturity. Let start with your relationship with Linus, LTT, LMG and position within the community will dictate whether you react emotionally or not. To be crude, alot of the posts read like "Big greedy youtube boss did bad thing, now me mad". I have been watching LTT since 2011, you get to understand a personality in this time, you also get to see how he has reacted to multiple difficult conversations and situations, e.g. Dennis' visa, bad sponsors, good sponsors, losing access to 30/40% of hia revenue, female staff members, salary disclosures, getting his wife to work with him etc.... Linus has a long track record which enables objective thinking. So yes, knee jerk reaction
  15. Louis Rossman once said if he stay the face of the right to repair movement it would fail as he had a habit of creating enemies. The same thing is happening with LTT, probably why he got in a CEO, and got people in who can do videos.
  16. Considering the size of the LTT community, this is barely a drop in the ocean. People like yourself may want LTT to fail, but the community wont suddenly disappear
  17. I think you are mssing the responsibility to staff and paying people in a way that they can make a living and have a career. Linus isnt a hollow corporate boss, he values personal relationships, he would feel a weight on his shoulders, to well, provide. They switched to merch and created floatplane to secure their revenue pipeline. It came as a lesson from Vessel. Ad revenue and sponsor spots simply isnt enough to pay the bills. Considering how media companies are valued, I would make an educated guess that the money makes around $15m revenue a year, then he has 100 mouths to feed $4m, then long term liabilities. Let say $5m profit, that isnt alot when you factor in level of productivity. I fully agree they need to take the foot of the gas, and the quality of videos arent good enough but the intentions come from the right place.
  18. Have you ever run a large team 20+ or business which you grew from nothing? Moving way is extremely difficult, especially when your name is part of the brand. His fear was a LMG losing its character, techradar, cnet, insert generic brand here... Which is valid, he has 100+, who have a particular working culture, it was a valid concern. What would he do with $100m, he has everything he wants.
  19. This is a terrible situation. Once you get the timeline, Linus' response is a cover up, whether it was his mistake or his then team's, he should have held his hand up and said we got it wrong, sorry, that is how leadership works. I run a team of about 20+ people, $h1t goes wrong, get the facts present it to the client, get your beating, then move forward.
  20. I am a commercial delivery manager for an IT service company, i work alot with contracts, and therefore need an understanding of the laws in relation to my employer's work. Here in the UK, loss of earnings due to reputational damage, intentional or unintentional can lead to a legal dispute and claim.
