Oh man, I am in the same boat. I am almost to the point where I might just buy some monitors from Amazon to try them out and return them if they don't work.

I am needing to purchase some new monitors for some friends They were just purchased the "Legion 5 Gen 6 AMD (15") Standard". What do people recommend in the ways of USB-C monitors? I am interested that they have 2+usb ports, HDMI/DP, and ethernet. The ability to daisy chain monitors is a + but not necessary. Just wanting to help clean up their desk space and clutter. Is there any concern with the laptops and the fact that they run a standard Lenovo rectangle power jack with a 240watt power brick? If the monitor provides power, can that damage the laptop in any way? I'm not finding anyone with reviews that address these particular problems. Recommendations greatly appreciated.

If you are assembling on the bed, make sure to have your 'live strong' bracelet on to prevent static discharge.

Looking to set up old PC to home server
TheCamba replied to ljeo332's topic in Servers, NAS, and Home Lab
My server at home is pretty much the exact same specs. I just installed Windows 10 on it with the Plex server app and what not. I looked into FreeNAS for a bit, but I just wanted to get up and going with it before learning a completely new system to me. I also didn't know if FreeNAS would allow me to rip bluerays and what not. -
I'd be up for joining. Or participating in whatever way I can. I can't be fully on all the time, just a very casual player.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Any new updates?

Best of luck on your venture. I hope everything works out. If you had a 3d printer you could custom built mounts and brackets to make everything perfect.

I like blue builds. I think pc part manufacturers should sell more blue parts.

I like the idea of re-using the old case. Its not modern by any means, but the aggressive styling lends to it to say, "I'm gonna kick some ass!" And it reminds me of good old LAN days.
