  1. Pretty much 5GHZ makes it running "hot" and blue screens. I'm already running 100C in some cases.
  2. Can't do 5GHZ without doing -2x AVX offset to keep temps down rip.. I'm around going around 80-90C in some cases with 1.36V.
  3. Bent pins(Z170 Extreme7+), BIOS bricked(Z270 Gaming 5), Z170 Deluxe going fine and my 3rd board. It's just Intel, they just want to bring the best processor over the current market, not the best performing processor they can make. Some people might just buy a K CPU and run at stock, but Intel's offical response for the 7700K overheating was "don't overclock". https://communities.intel.com/message/471425#471425
  4. You can ask a friend for a 3dprinter, there are 3D Models of delid tools online. If not just hire a 3D Print service. I would check thermal paste/cooler before going anywhere else, reaching 100C around stock with that high voltage seems abnormal. It shouldn't get to 1.36V+ if it's just stock, something is going wrong that's causing 4.7GHZ on all cores. It's most likely the XMP setting that "causes" all of the cores to 4.7GHZ turbo rather than one.
  5. Intel says don't overclock and reviewers are "implying" to delid for overclocking.
  6. So what are you trying to say? It's known that Kaby Lake runs hotter than Skylake in general, and they both got the same TIM/Spacing. If you want to be serious about Kaby Lake with high voltages then delid.
  7. It's the space between the the IHS and the Die issue as well... This is with a 3770K
  8. Try running XMP off, using 2133 or use 3200 with own timings and voltage.
  9. The TIM has been the same with 4790K, it's just the spacing/heat issues. It was a big issue with 7700K were it just ran too hot, but it has the same TIM as the 4790K/6700K.
  10. Temps seem reasonable if it's at 1.36V with LLC and OC'd to 4.7GHZ. But it's most likely MCE is on that forces all cores to 4.7GHZ, turn that off and see if there's a difference.
  11. Thanks for the code, been meaning to get one buy it's pricey.

  13. People pissed about new socket, whatever some people need single thread and ryzen doesn't meet that.
  14. It's a shame that Asus decided to end the Deluxe line starting with AM4 and Z270. I find the Z170 Deluxe is probably one of the best 1151 boards out there, huge feature set at a "reasonable" price. 3x3 Wifi unlike current Asus boards, still with 6 USB 3.1 ports. Don't like how its only one USB 3.0 header in general, it's the nicest 1151 board i'd owned. My Z170 Extreme7+ was with bent pins My Z270 Gaming 5 had bricked BIOS This Z170 board still going like a champ...
  15. I tend to dislike Asus ROG boards and poor value on their lower end boards, pretty much I'd only prefer Asus boards if their like 200 USD+. Replaced my Z270 Gigabyte with a Z170 Deluxe since Z270 BIOS bricked itself.

  17. Disappointed with Ryzen sub-par single-threaded performance being around sandy bridge, FX performance from 8320, AMD drivers giving me issues in games. Switched to a 7700K and 980 Ti and never looked back at AMD. Just performance in general, Ryzen works fine for some people but not for me. I prefer single-threaded performance, and that led me to get an 7700K over 1700.
  18. the fuck nomad btw that 3570k needs a delid first
  19. Thanks, don't know why my PayPal said GBP but whatever for 5 ish bucks.
  20. Considering used 6700K/Mobo combos are going around for 300-350, that's not a bad idea. GTX 980s go for around 200.
