  1. two of my brothers work at an independent VW repair shop, but they haven't seen a lot of them this new. Good idea to unload the A6 about now. 100-125k is when all sorts of unhappy happens on those jetta/golf/a4/a6s.
  2. that is actually wrong. profits do not automatically go to the company's shareholders. What actually happens is profit stays in the company for growth. also, to assume 70 making an average of 50k a year is ridiculous. the average is likely much higher than that, and they are closer to 80 employees, based on what Linus said last WAN show. also, you can't take total profits year over year and then only take a years worth of salary. you're being weird, please stop.
  3. welcome! just giving my two cents, it's not polite to discuss how much someone makes, even if they are a public figure. It's just bad taste.

Thanks! I didn’t mind the butterfly to type on, but it sucked when little flecks of crap got underneath and make the keys feel funny. I also hate the font used on the g14. The actual keys are nice though.

It’s a 2019 MacBook Pro 13 a1989 4TB3 ports. I5-8279U 16GB ram 512GB storage solid machine still, but it was starting to struggle a bit with dual 4K displays, and I have so many apps running that I’d only get about 2 hours of battery life out of it when out and about.

Negative. That model is like $2500
  8. Well, I done did it. I replaced my 2019 MacBook Pro with an Asus G14 2022 running fedora 36.

Best Buy had it on sale for $1399. Hard to argue for that price.

Oh yep, no dedicated GPU puts the integrated graphics under a lot of pressure just generating a video signal. I have a 2019 16” with a Radeon Pro 5300M. It’s a great little machine.

Apple replaced it for me with a brand new 2020 13" M1 MBP

I bet you were thrilled with that. Unless of course you used Bootcamp…

It's been so much better in basically every way. Even if I did rely on Boot Camp I would have taken the upgrade. Roughly a 3x improvement in battery life (at least), basically zero heat, no fan noise under almost all conditions, better performance in everything I do, and the list goes on. I also purchased a 16" M1 Max MBP towards the end of May, and that machine has been even more impressive. It doesn't have the same battery life as the 13" M1, and it runs warmer, but it's still much better than any 15" Unibody or Retina I've ever owned in the past.

It was quite a bit of effort, but in the end it was all completely free of charge. I wasn't happy having to deal with all the keyboard issues, but the end result has been worth it.

  9. I'm not super active on here anymore, but I've got a 2000 Tundra with a 3" suspension lift, 33" Dick Cepek Trail Country EXPs, and 4.56 gears, among some other stuff.
  10. yep, exactly. yeah, I sold the accord to my little brother. It still lives on, and he's loving it. I'm in construction, so a lowered car doesn't really have a place right now.
  11. Well, I guess I’m back for my yearly check in. Tundra is doing good. 267k and climbing. Here’s how she stands. I also picked up a tow pig a few months back, a 1998 24v dually tuned and built to 350ish HP. still looking for an old mr2 as a fun car. No luck currently. Market is too hot.
  12. nearly 50,000 comments on the ATF notice. good job guys.
  13. Ditto. I’d be okay if I never did another ball joint, ever. Just finished doing my second set on the tundra.
  14. correct, and there's no consistent way to distinguish between a "pistol" and a "firearm"
  15. yep! the last however long it's been has indeed been a wild ride. Been working in construction (this industry is nuts with the CORVIDS) got married 9 months ago, bought an '86 F250 with a 6.9IDI, sold that, and havin fun with the Tundra. and the wife likes the truck as much as I do.
  16. Wow! Crazy to see all you guys are still here. little update on my part, the Accord is gone, I sold to my teenage brother who’s taking great care of it, and the Tundra now looks like this. all new suspension, wheels, 33” tires, 4.56 Tacoma gears, axles, donor bed, doors and fenders, topper, etc. running great as my daily. Just crossed over 250k. how y’all been?
  17. what happened to your post? seems like it got some of my old posts jacked into it. or am I the only one who sees this?
  18. yep. Body is one of the next things on the list, after suspension. I don't know how updated you are on this truck, but Toyota replaced the entire frame, lower control arms, brake lines, etc. back in February.
